It's a nice theory but many people on both sides are so contaminated with nationalism that you'll hardly find anyone that will accept this. Your theory might be correct but it's simply not acceptable to the people of Cyprus and I don't see why this needs to be accepted anyway. If we'll ever have peace on this island, it's going to be based on trust and respect for each other. We don't have to be identical in order to get along. We can still consider themselves Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots (or Turk and Greek if you like) and still get along as long as we trust and respect each other. I think it's useless to try to make people feel identical. Let them be what they feel like to be and tell them that we have to accept and respect each other for peace and unity. That's more important.

Come on. We all know that TCs went to the streets not because of peace or unification, but because of EU and their own prosperity.
You're being too harsh again. Yes, maybe TCs didn't do anything for 30 years, but you have to at least give credit for them to realize the mistakes of their leaders. Any TC can get a RoC passport and enjoy the benefits of the EU. Any TC can work in the south and hence earn EU level income. So the demonstrations were not just about EU and money as you suggested.
I said this before but I'll say it again. Many TCs that currently live in Morphou said yes to the plan even though most of them were going to be refugees 3rd or 4th time! So don't act like the Annan plan was all good and nice for TCs and evil for GCs.
