I must admit it took me at least 6mnths to adjust to everything - it was quite hard at the beginning and i found the red tap BS a pain
I didnt get an id card for 3mnths so couldnt work
but it was still fun
I stayed for 5yrs and i never regret it!!

if you come from the EU you don't need an ID card to work. I work in the Airport without an ID card.

Yeah but I moved to Cyprus in 1992
and u needed one then
plus it was the run around from one govt office to another
very frustrating

ok but I can tell you that things has changed since then. My employer is fixing everything for me. I just have to sit down and relax.

But Kenneth do you not need to have an ARC (Alien Registration Card) with your reason for staying in Cyprus as 'Employment'?

well not the first 3 months I assume. I have filed some paperworks along with some photos to the company, which take care of the process.
Now I'm here solely on my passport got entry to airside on that also here in LCA.
So I guess thats the most important document.
But again I don't know if this is the right procedure, but it works for me.
The only thing I have to figure out is my tax. I need a tax number from the indland revenue and fill out a form. That is what I have read at least.. just have to find an office where to do that. Is that Town hall or ?

The income tax office in Larnaca is next to the Fire Station on the road coming down from Nicosia and heading to the Beach Front (main Police Station). Its at the main cross roads by the Fire Station. You will need an ID card for your forms etc as they ask for you Tax Identification Code (TIC) which I think is the same as your ID number. The form is form IR59A and your employer should give you that.
