Muslim Revenge over cartoon

Postby anastasiaC » Mon Feb 06, 2006 4:36 am

What are your feelings about the uproar from Muslims over the cartoon?
I havent seen the cartoon but the violent outburst just makes them look like crazy lunatics??
I think they would have got a better response if they had a peaceful protest.

I think the official responces where civil.
The fanatics are what you see. I doubt that the majority of the Muslim world reacted the same way as the few fanatics.

It would be quite amusing, if it wasn’t so tragic. It’s nothing to do with the cartoons and all to do with abject self loathing. Take your pick from Maroc to Indonesia; all of them have bankrupt states. Quite frankly, if there wasn’t so much oil in the Middle East, who would give a fig about the Muslim. As an aside, I don’t think this improves the chances of Turkey. Why would anybody want a country of 80 million Muslims being let into Europe by the back door.

You can't judge everyone by the actions of a select few.

Also, Turkish muslims are secular. Religion doesn't play a large part in everyday life, unlike the middle east.

I don't agree with you Michael. Sorry but I have not seen anything fanatic coming from the Turkish Muslims. Turkey was one of the first to ask for tollerance.
Not all Muslims are fanatic.

I never said that the Turks did not demonstrate. And I am not against any Muslims demonstrating peacefully.

There is no link to the killing with the demonstrations either. Not yet anyway.

So no need to jump into conclution that was related.

I am Greek Orthodox Christian, so you know. I just wish we all stopped blaming everything to ALL the muslims for the bad acts of a few. This world can be a better place if we all learned to do that.

Unfortunate, but like I said before, I really doubt that every Turkish Muslim has killed a priest.......

I'm guessing where you live murder is non-existent.....

I think there was. The Muslim assassin was seen fleeing from the crime screeming ali ackbar. if the Turkish police and newspaper have made the link surely you can.
