I appreciate it's UK. And, I certainly don't dislike Cypriots.What on Earth makes you think that? in fact, you've posted negatively about the place quite a few times in the past. Far more than I have (if I have at all ). You know "Police State" (you've had a go at the Police several times). Recently, clearly angry about the illegal aspects related to refusing to insure the cars of elderly people, et al.

When it comes to parking though, I think it's quite common to see vehicles straddling multiple spaces. It's seemed to me some people don't so much park their cars as abandon them. The closer to the shop the better.

Thus, I could see the local side of the joke (which of course it is - a joke - that's why it's in the joke section).
