So it seems GCs can take anything they wish unchecked to the South Side of Pile but TCs in the north have to go through checks before they reach TCs in North Pile.

Nice.

On another note, my comparison of federal system in America and the fact that the number of senators each state return is the same irrespective of the population of the state seems to be liked across the pond.

The US system is a “perfect example” of a federal state to be emulated, president of the Pancyprian Association of America, Philip Christopher, said at the annual conference for Cypriot diaspora taking place in Nicosia.

How very interesting.

Is this not what one of our esteemed enlightened forum members said the other day? Clearly there was no problem before the Turkish invasion was there? Like pushing TCs off their land and into the enclaves, murdering's civilians by RoC police and the little matter of the coup replacing an elected president not that he was much cop, but never the less replacing him with a known murder of women and children.

“It has been 49 years since Turkey invaded Cyprus, illegally seizing and violently occupying 36 per cent of the island, displacing hundreds of thousands of people,” she said.

Having looked at the 14 points Katsoulides is trying to propose at a meeting which Tatar so far has not accepted to attend not one is about he peace process and how he intends to continue. Is he going to pick up where they left off or is he going back to 1963?

One of the points looked very interesting.

Item 1- Procedures that do not "legalize" Turkish settlers who are illegally present in the occupied territories are seeking to grant citizenship to children whose parents are Turkish Cypriots. In the first stage, citizenship can be granted to the Turkish children of couples who are married to Turkish citizens and who meet during their education, for example, by having a wedding abroad.

So clearly those who married in Cyprus are not entitled. Shiiiiiit.

Next thing he will be asking is when and where did they have sex first time.

Item 10 - The emergency number 112 starts to speak Turkish. It does not go into detail of what they will do once they answer the call.

Item 13 - Information campaign aimed at the solution of the Cyprus problem on the basis of a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation based on political equality, as envisaged in the relevant resolutions of the United Nations.

I know at least one person here who will read this and faint. Fuck man he still believes in political equality which must mean veto right?

You can learn a lot by looking at other people and how they deal with their problems.

To be honest I was surprised the order did not come to shoot in the air at least.

It is time the UN fucked off out of Cyprus. They could not arrange a piss up in a brewery never mind peace. They did ask for permission but apparently RoC did not agree with it so it was not given. Stinks like bullshit. TCs deserve decent roads like anybody else whether it is in the buffer zone or not. The buffer zone is to do with military matters and isolating the two sides. I see no reason why UN people would be stupid enough to park in the way to stop construction of a road. I don't remember them parking their vehicles in front of Makarios's tanks back in 64 in Kochina or in Kofunye in 1967 to stop Makarios's gang firing on the civilians across the buffer zone.

Time for them to pack their bags.

...a solution to the Pyla road debacle.

Fortunately, the Pyla crisis was eased two weeks later through silent diplomacy. Colin Stewart, UN special representative for Cyprus and head of the UNFICYP, visited Tahsin Ertugruloglu, the Turkish Cypriot foreign minister. Teamwork was conducted on the basis of approved maps. It was agreed how the checkpoints would be managed once the road from Yigitler reached the village of Pyla. Their agreement will be reflected in a document that will be finalized soon. The land in this corridor will be promoted by the common accord of Turkish and Greek Cypriots. Another meeting is scheduled with the participation of the mayors and headmen of the villages.

of course you would like that so Turkey and the illegal puppet regime can do as they please without any independent observers of intermediary.

The UN is here because Cyprus is illegally occupied and the GC's dont feel safe.

Your comments just agitate that feeling on insecurity and no one gives a rats ass what you think about getting pissed in breweries or roads being built by the illegal regime to the unoccupied areas.

it doesnt help solve Cyprus's Turkish problem.

it is actually way past time Turkey and the illegal settlers fucked off out of Cyprus. Along with the illegal puppet regime getting dismantled.

Then the UN will go. The UN is not the problem, Turkey and the illegal regime are.

Sentiment in the Republic is actually growing towards closing all the existing checkpoints to stop the illegal immigration and all financial support that travels across the green line that helps feed this illegal regime.
