Modded X-box at Hi-Def

Postby Sotos » Fri Feb 03, 2006 10:08 am

If you have x-box (the original not 360) and a Hi-Def TV then you definitely need to mod it (if its a PAL version) and get the Hi-Def component pack. I got it yesterday and the picture quality at 480p is huge! And I didn't even try a 720p game yet! The 360 is already Hi-Def and I believe that 50% of the difference that people see between the original X-box and the 360 is that their original x-box is not working in Hi-Def mode.

Can you give more details on this please Sotos, such as where I can get it modded and how much?

At the moment, my one has a 120gb hdd on it and a chip so that I can backup my games onto the hard drive and not use the originals ;)

Would it affect that in any way?

If you have a chip then it means it is modded and you can switch it to NTSC. You will also need the xbox High Definition AV Pack. I got the original from Microsoft for 30 dollars but there are cheaper ones also. After you connect the high definition pack you will see more options in the setup.

But remember you need a TV that can do real HD to see the difference in picture quality. With just an "HD ready" TV i don't think the difference will be much.
