India and China don’t seem to care enough about football; the former loves Cricket while the latter love Ping-Pong and Badminton the most, and unlike America neither country has the advertising/sponsorship type of environment that can invest in and propel a sport like football.

As more and more money flows into US soccer with every passing world cup, you can bet it’ll make an impact in the future, so I definitely see them making a final… maybe 3-4 tournaments from now.

Football is all about numbers… Lots of money invested + big population = success.

You are falling behind with the news. I grant you India loves cricket, but China does what America is doing too. They are bringing in the western discarded football players. Same action same ultimate result stand still as far as world football is concerned.

It sounds good though. A player named Memphis scores a goal.

Here is a song by another called Memphis. 2 3 4..............

Having mentioned Cricket…

Cyprus is so clueless in Cricket that the growing Indian + Sri Lankan community of Cyprus took it upon themselves to establish a Cyprus Cricket association and even managed to get government funding to form a national team to play overseas!

Imagine the look on people’s faces when our national Cricket team arrives to play some country only to see a bunch of Pakis with the CY flag on their shirts!

That's the best news I heard all day, but we cannot use the "P,,,,,," word no more GR, where are your manners?
LR will think us as barbarians, and that will not do at all. Only the Swine can use such language.

Only you know if you are a Swine. If you support the Swine party and all the Swinery they have got up to over the centuries than who am I to disagree. I never accused you of being a Swine did I? They sent the army to supposedly defend the Catholics in Northern Ireland thinking their Swine friends would have themselves a bloodbath and they killed innocent civilians not once but twice. Ballymurphy and Bloody Sunday massacres, remember them?

Back to football. There is something wrong when your best player is taking corners. Who will fuckin score the goals?

If anybody who knows this person has sympathies with my view I would ask they PM me with any details they have about him. Name/location et al. Anonymity will be fully respected.

I've been retired from all that sort of shit for a long time but - you know - once you can ride a bike. I doubt anybody on here would be happy to put up with his near 18 months of insults about their country or selves. I think the time has come for a face to face reconciliation. A clearing the air sort of thing.

Whilst I apprecate, for various reasons, the UK isn't flavour of the month on this Cypriot forum, what would the reaction be to a 73 page thread about how Cyprus was a "Swineland" and told repeatedly they are "Swine"?

Swineland is where ever such swine live.

...taken to extremes Monty Python would be banned for the same reasons; it's just not "British".

I appreciate Lordo's efforts, for it is not the People he exposes with his ridicule, but those who, it seems, escape accountability to them.

Sorry, you're in Canada I know. Perhaps I'm wrong but I have a faint suspicion I've actually lived in Cyprus longer than you. I'm sure, if you'd been treated to a 73 page thread which frequently referred to your homeland as "Swineland," you might just get a bit pissed off and quite rightly so. More perhaps if the person pouring out the vitriolic statements about your country had done so well there as to own a significant portfolio of properties.

Well said RW and I would add one more thing. They actually believe they are entitled to get away with what they do. I mean their activities at the Bullingdon club are legendary.
