Good international cooperation. I guess, much like this forum, it's in suspension at the moment.

By coincidence this appeared in the past week. It's not going to hit us, thankfully, (the odds must be phenomenal) but there's a lot of this stuff flying around out there and - like the Tungusta incident, only much bigger - is certain to happen again one day.

As far as novel viruses are concerned it seems to be a similar story, in some cases down to mankind relentlessly encroaching on the wild in places like sub-Sahara Africa (Ebola, et al).

All the evidence suggests the original (1908) Tunguska incident was a meteor. Not big enough to be an asteroid, so only about 12 Megatons. The rock in the Gruinard article would be far more cataclysmic. An extinction event. It's only a matter of time until the next one.

Very simple solution really. It is not rocket science is it. The Ukranian war will destroy the Ukrainian ecology because the tree will be cut down for firewood which will exasperate the climate change.
