I think we should have a secret vote for the position of 2 moderators and let the persons with the most votes win.

We are a small group here, but one moderator won’t be able to manage alone, therefore two moderators would be better than one.
Naturally, any selected member can decline the position of a moderator if he/she would garner the top 2 voting positions.

Bribing members for their votes shall be allowed!

They don’t come any straighter than me Repulse… in fact, I’ll have you know that I’ve been mathematically computed to be so straight that science had to create a special taxonomy just for me they aptly named “the perfect straight”!

I can do the job of approving new members, and rejecting spammers if you show me how.

This would be the main task.

Alternatively you may turn the joining of new members to automatic, and give me or someone else the authority to ban spammers.

This is an alterative. It will make it easier for new people to join as they will not have to wait for their post to be approved. The disadvantage is that spam messages will be posted and will be seen by all until deleted. This method would require more time by the mod.

I would occasionally approve a few posts, but this became rarer and rarer. That member joined a year ago. I don't think I approved any posts by new members in 2022.

One question for Admin. How do you make money from adverts? Do we have to click on them and is it per click or is it the same fee under certain numbers of clicks.

I am prepared to click on the adverts if it means some revenue.

It is per click, but please don't do it intentionally. Each click is just some cents, and if the same person keeps clicking on ads Google will flag it and nothing will count. So only click if you see something that interests you.

What's so hard about managing the dashboard? So long as I do not have to type, right?

The moderator tasks are quite straightforward and not particularly technical. Anybody who can use the forum as user can handle it.

However, I will be happy to send the money to the Admin for the next renewal of CF just to help out if he/she would PM me with details.

Thanks Kikapu. The forum currently doesn't receive a great amount of traffic so the cost of hosting it is very low. No help is needed.

We could do a poll.... Forum members love a good poll don't we.... Firstly though members should put their names forward and for this we would need a seperate thread running for say 4 days.. Then someone (GR) could do the poll... Could be made anonymous but i don't see the need for that... Anyway thats my 10 shekels worth... Have a nice day everyone

Seems like a good plan. That said I would prefer if there is consensus among you. Somebody (or more than one) whom you all find acceptable, even if they wouldn't be your first choice.

Yes Lordo and Kicks are both great guys... but they’re not very computer savvy so they’ll probably be rather lost in front of the Admin control panel!
