Tonight at 7pm APOEL will try to overturn the 3-0 deficit they suffered in Sweden against the previously “unknown” Djurgardens IF.

Having watched the first leg, APOEL wasted most of their time playing TIKI-TAKA in the back as per usual, but tonight they MUST cut the crap and come out in full force if they are to have any chance at scoring three goals.

Generally, I don’t feel they have what it takes to overturn this result as they’re not an attacking side and don’t have a star striker that can make a difference, but I do expect them to dominate in front of their home crowd and probably earn a small victory like a 1-0 or a 2-1 or something like that.

I hope I'm wrong and we see some MAGIC, but as we say in Cyprus... "inda xero o koufos na me fai alla..." :)

If you have CytavISION or CableNet you can watch it tonight at 7pm on channels 211 or 511.

Three spectacular European matches for Thursday evening…

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AEK Larnaca vs SC Dnipro-1 (7pm)

AEK Larnaca is always a delight to watch and easily Cyprus’ most entertaining side thanks to their “spanish” flair. Last week they managed a small 1-2 away victory against the unknown Ukrainian side “SC Dnipro-1”; not to be confused with the former SC Dnipro which went bust.

AEK outplayed their opponents without too much difficulty so there’s no reason why they can’t repeat that performance in front of their home crowd, so the prediction for this match is easily a 1.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Omonia Nicosia vs K.A.A. Gent (8pm)

Omonia pulled off a unexpected 0-2 victory in Belgium last week thanks to their 11 man defense that Gent could not penetrate, while Omonia was clinical in counter attacks.

There’s no reason for Omonia to change this tactic just because they’ll now be playing at home. If they stick to same strategy they should progress to the next round but if they get cocky playing at home and start opening up Gent (which is technically superior) is bound to punish them!

Not knowing how Omonia plans to play tomorrow makes me suggest a 1X2 for this match.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Olympiacos Piraeus vs Apollon Limassol (10pm)

In the first leg the match ended a 1-1 draw but don’t let that score fool you because Apollon had TWO very strict offside goals denied. On both occasions the Apollon player was on the same line as the opponent, so the ref made two very unfair decisions against Apollon.

On the basis of the above and having not seen anything special coming from Olympiakos, I have to conclude that this match is a X2.

No end to SC Dnipro-1’s Cyprus misery…

Having lost twice to AEK Larnaca and getting booted to the Conference League, the little known Ukrainian side has now been drawn to a Conference League table that includes Apollon Limassol!

That’s another two losses from a Cypriot side guaranteed!

This side would’ve never made it to European tournaments if it hadn’t been for NATO’s fucking around in the Ukraine making a mess (long story I won’t post here), so now they have to suffer a string of defeats against Cypriot clubs!

Interesting development: Russian 2nd division team moves to Cyprus:

FC Krasava will play in the 2nd division of the Cyprus championship as “FC Krasava Eny Ypsonas”
https://eprimefeed.com/sports/fc-krasav ... ip/140280/

https://www.fckrasava.com/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Krasava
https://www.transfermarkt.com/ypsonas-f ... rein/57870

First official match…

Σάββατο 10/09/2022: Krasava ΕΝΥ vs ΜΕΑΠ

If this team starts attracting Russian players of ever increasing quality, they’ll have the potential to win the first division championship in the near future!

Football action tonight…

8:45pm - Real Sociedad vs AC Omonia

I expect nothing less than a good walloping for our lowly Omonia. The Spanish should be too much for our side.

8:45pm - Apollon Limassol vs Dnipro-1

Apollon should get a 2-0 here, unless an unforeseen red card or something stupid wrecks it.

10:00pm - Dynamo Kiev vs AEK Larnaca

Once upon a time Dynamo would’ve been the red hot favorites but the war has taken its toll on Ukie football, so this should be the match to watch as AEK’s Spanish flair never fails to entertain.

This match is a 1X2, and will be played in Poland.

I almost forgot to mention that tonight we have...

UEFA Nations League - League C

Cyprus vs Greece

At the AEK Arena in Larnaca at 9:45pm which should be broadcast on RIK1/2.

I’m not offering a prognosis because not only are we too weak a side in Europe but Cyprus also has a very bad treasonous habit of giving games away to Greece... which begs the question why am I even gonna fucking watch this? :?

Some interesting matches for tomorrow Thursday 6th Oct:

19:45 - AC Omonia vs Manchester United

I expect nothing less than our side to get pummeled… but I’ve been wrong about Omonia before.
Ronaldo, will be very eager to make the starting 11 as he probably sees the easy opponent as his best chance to finally impress the disappointed United fans!

22:00 - Fenerbahçe vs AEK Larnaca

AEK is a great side; our best side, but the Turks at home will be quite a challenge. I expect some TCs to be at the stadium to make some political statements! This one is a 1X.

22:00 - AZ Alkmaar vs Apollon Limassol

I must admit I’ve lost faith in this year’s Apollon… it’s not the wonderful side they had 1-2 years ago when they were beating teams like Latzio.
I expect a loss here and a poor performance from Apollon… I may not even watch this.
