The TC's where the instrument being used by foreign powers to destroy Cyprus. they circumvented democracy and essentially become the continuation of colonialism in Cyprus.

The TC contributed massively to why people emigrated from the island to seek opportunities elsewhere.

How can you support Ukraines war to join NATO but not Cyprus's war for enosis or independence?

There is a key difference between Ukraine and Cyprus.

Ukraine has shown some backbone and fortitude defending their country. The world can only admire Ukrainians for their backbone and fortitude.

Cyprus biggest mistake was stopping the war or the fight against the Turkish Military. Very bad move.

In addition, this isn't Ukraine's War to join NATO. It is Ukraine's Defence against a foreign invader. This is Russia's War not Ukraine's War.

yes, you are right, there is a key difference.

Ukraine has been fighting for about 2 months.

Cyprus fought colonialism, a civil war and a brutal invasion over the span of about 20 years.

Cyprus, a population of less than a million was fighting against a population of about 70 million with some help from Greece.

Ukraine, a population of 45 million is fighting against a population of about 145 million with the full support and help from Europe and the west.

The west has military embargoes on Cyprus, even though she is being illegally occupied. Nearly half the world is sanctioning Russia for their invasion of Ukraine. No one is sanctioning Turkey for the illegal occupation of Cyprus. Who was going to provide the man power, weapons and ammunition for Cyprus to keep fighting against Turkey?

Go do some more figuring re Paphitis..

Don't kid yourself Maximus. Cyprus did not fight colonialism or the British. It's a massive hyperbole. Roamanticism. All they did was ambush a coiuple of British Sodiers here or there. But if they wanted to, they would have tuened the island to rubble, but we are talking about the Britsih Army here, not the Red Army. Russia would have turned you to rubble indeed.

If Cyprus had a war with Britain, Cyprus would be crushed.

actually it was guerrilla warfare because they didnt have much in terms of weapons at that time.

The Brits tortured and killed many Cypriots by the way, something not exclusive to Hitler or Stalin.

Lets make you general of the Cypriot national guard shall we.

Ukraine's...war ?? Do you mean the Russian invasion of Ukraine ?
Furthermore I never supported Ukraine's ambitions of NATO membership. As a young boy I did support ENOSIS. With
Hindsight I was wrong. Our struggle should have had as it's goal an independent Cyprus. By the way, I wouldn't have returned to Cyprus if it was rolled by Greeks.
