Should Russia join NATO?

Postby repulsewarrior » Mon Apr 18, 2022 1:00 am

I imagine in a world where Russia has joined NATO, India would be encouraged by it (like Turkey having weapons from Russia too); though in isolating China's threat it may have as a result an even greater risk of WMD's being used.

...will the exploitation of countries continue though, if as i suggest the global supply chain with NATO effectively its defender exists, will they tolerate war in countries elsewhere; as it is today, will member states continue making war?

I will vote yes, because i don't like Xi's CCP that much, and because, in my mind, Russia and the EU should not be divided; such a step becomes a possibility along with a better relationship with the US, and working together will lead to better and faster results against our global threats.

...membership in NATO will even more clearly define their commitment to a Family of Man, that there are Universal Principles that they are all willing equally to defend.

...all this of course assuming Putin, Erdogan, and Zelenskiy have an epiphany, changing their intentions.

Your reason for voting or not of course are appreciated.

Just delete this trash and use your brain before posting!

NB: Russia joining NATO is the equivalent of the dissolution of NATO.

...certainly it will have to repurpose itself.

You’re an IDIOT! The correct poll title should be “Should NATO be dissolved?”

But you are struggling in everything political because you just don’t have the mental capacity to carry you through.

Do yourself a favor and find another hobby.

If Russia joined NATO it would no doubt be very good for peace and stability so I vote yes.

Of course there was a time where this was a very distinct possibility with Russia fully intending on joining NATO. Russia can't perceive any threat from NATO if it was a member so plenty of positives for the entire planet here.

But at this point in time, given Pootin's delusions and expansionism against other smaller countries, NATO membership seems difficult or impossible. There would have to be a leadership change in Russia.

But yes, I am very supportive of Russia joining the alliance overall because it can only be a good thing for peace and stability in Europe.

It would also be good if the Russians wanted to join the EU.

I also think Cyprus needs to be incliuded in NATO as well.

China is the global threat to NATO, not Russia. And Russia will need to be very weary of the vulture circling over its head because it won't be long before XChina trains its army against Russia itself.

Russia needs to understand that NATO will never pose a threat towards its territorial integrity or sovereighty. That's not what NATO is about.

...soon whatever was the USSR, except Russia will be in NATO, and in the EU.

As a defensive force it has a purpose. So long as Russia is outside this force, it represents an aggressor, if it is contained as a member of this force, the EU is more secure, what threatens the EU must be more wary.

Principles and Values, actually the EU, US, and RU, all declare their commitment to the same Principles and values; power, if these three allied.

If Russia joined Nato, who would they defend us against?

Chinese?

No chance. Russia will not go against Chine. She is the only country she can trust that has both military and economic power.

The best thing is if Nato shits down but that is tont practical. If that happens how will the west create trhe myths to sell their weapons. It aint going to work.

This way West can continue to sell the myth of democracy whilst getting rich selling weapons to both sides in any war situation.
