This is a fighting forum, and blocking others is a sign of weakness.

But... why DT ?? Just because he's a greedy kid going after the money? As far as I know his overall contribution to the forum is next to zero...

Of course GR already did it but this doesn't mean I agree with that either.

And so he should be making money for his family and making sure his kids don't experience a struggle in their lives.

Laziness has nothing to do with it. Bezos for instance is greedy because he pays his workers below minimum wage and clocks them when they go to toilet and deducts it from their hours of work.
SO does Dyson and every other fuckin corporation. Hell even the UK government employs contractors for services which pay below minimum wage.

Assholes like him belong to the Victorian workhouse days and have no place in the 21st century.

Who regularly invokes his version of God, presenting him as the righteous fomenter of the current Ukrainian carnage - it being some sort of wrathful judgement, with Vladimir Putin as an earthly Messiah and himself playing "his" part? I mean, that's a bit of recent output but it goes way, way back. You think stuff like that is the product of a sane individual?

And............... You're saying that an individual is not allowed to post his views on a forum thread discussing the conflict in Ukraine?.... Jeesh it would be boring if everyone was towing the same line.

The subject is sanity. I submit that somebody who expresses (and obviously deeply believes) such views clearly doesn’t have a healthy mind. They certainly don’t fit into the “sanest posters on the forum” category.

Where have I said anyone can’t post any view? Although, I would suggest that blocking a person is a pretty emphatic way of practicing that philosophy individually. Perhaps more about that later. Stay tuned.

FWIW, I think his stuff is really interesting and agree life would be duller without. That doesn’t mean I shouldn’t call a spade a spade. Which is just an indication I’m not “towing the same line”. No?

You need to find out a bit more about this individual, he has other traits that are equally unattractive. And I am not even mentioning his face or his three and a half foot tall height.

Anyway I am happy of the countless of times our views were identical, and the equal number they were not. On this issue I am a bit against, but if it makes you feel better then no problem.

It’s the clowns that ABUSE the forum with incessant personal attacks, irrelevant posts and nothing of substance to contribute... that should be blocked.

You all know who they are.

I feel that's a gauntlet I have to pick up.

Firstly points 2/3. I don't believe them to be true. If you look back over recent pages of this thread I think you will find that, where I've engaged with other members, it's been relevant and in regard to the subject of events in Ukraine, of substance. I clearly disagree with people like Lordo, Kicks and Pyrpro on a range of issues but - both ways - in a fairly civilised manner (OK - the odd bit of aggro creeps in).

Wrt "personal attacks" I have a simple philosophy on forums. I treat people in the manner they treat me. In that regard not only have I never come across somebody with so much hatred in their soul as GR but also he is without equal in my experience when it comes to abusive comments. So it's a quid pro quo thing.

Most of my "personal attacks" in respect of him consist of re-posting his past efforts. He doesn't like that - at all. To be reminded.

My earliest experience of GR was with my first OP. It was about some poor Russian sod who had put something on FB criticising his country's invasion of Crimea. He lost his job, was harassed day and night and assaulted under the nose of the police, who simply didn't want to know. In the end he fled the country in fear of his life. Robin Hood responded in his usual way but a civilised manner. GR then appears. First post "Watch me get rid of this hypocrite in 20 minutes Robin". That was followed by a long series of rants, liberally sprinkled with mostly homophobic, expletive bile. Those, bizarrely, including accusations against me about Hiroshima and some SAS guys who were in a ME jail - with related pictures. It was really a total nut-fest. Ironically, RH once used to (sorta) be in the SAS. Anyway, that was my opening experience of the man - over 5 years ago now - and with a few moderately quiet interludes the way things have continued.

This is the second time he's blocked me. That, not actually because of the reasons stated but because, like all forum bully boys, he can dish it out but not take it (sorry for the repetition). I really couldn't care less though because I can - and will - continue to comment on some of the material he comes out with.

If you're reading this then thanks for not following his example, as he urged, and basically for having a mind of your own.
