There's been a continual trend in this thread by people (you know who your are ) to divert attention away from the central issue - the unprovoked invasion by Russia of a neighbouring country - towards totally unrelated events in other countries at other times. That, accompanied by the introduction of what's little more than conspiracy theories about similar. It's all presented in a manner which suggest that Russia's actions are acceptable because A did B to C back in D. It's bullshit. Russia has sent 190,000 troops into a neighbouring country where it's been slaughtering the population and destroying it's cities for the past 3 weeks. There is nothing which justifies that and to attempt to do so by any BS examples is despicable.

Same as Cyprus, we could have had peace back in 1974 with no settlers but it was not to be.

People are Persons, and the Liberty to be the person you want to be has even bigger meanings now that Freedom, our Freedom as People has become a bedrock for Humanity above who we may "be" as Peoples; we are now Individuals, not just Persons. While we seek to nurture both identities, self-representation as such demands that the capacity to nurture both exists. (This is the Problem)

A BBF is not bad or good, it has evolved from the American Revolution in many ways; clearly intentions count.

When there is clearly diferent populations in the country, Unitary state will not work most of the time.

...Unitary States have the same issues with minorities, in that as a Nation-State, Persons as such seek to nurture their own distinctions so that they too will thrive. Majorities in any case, cannot simply dismiss a minority's existence.

Citizens of a BBF, it appears have the added advantage of allowing Universal Principles to be expressed not just as Individuals (toward each other) but as Persons as well. The demonstration of such Constituencies, at such a level of government, of their Goodwill in setting their agendas in such a State offers an even greater choice to the population as a whole, to ''be'' a minority or a majority no less; it allows for their mobility, free expression, and association. It allows for new thinking, and on many levels a new thinking on the diversity of our thought (in competition with other States, and in accommodating the island's dwellers as the population's demographics changes and grows).

The Ukraine, like Cyprus is a cross-road; as facilitators of exchange such openness is an asset: a loving nature that as a People (and as Peoples) they stand united against the hatefulness from which their Freedom was born makes sense.

BBF is not the same as MMF. That will not work. WHat you need is as many federal sates as there are languages I would say. That is reasonable to set up a working political system where nobody can oppress anybody else like Belgium or Switzerland perhaps.
