No Russian President who cares for the well being of it's nation, would ever let any so called 'political activist " financed by the Americans to become a threat of collapsing the State on grounds of Liberty, Democracy and free speech.
The same happens in countries who advertise themselves as "democracies". That was my point regarding Assange. I never thought you would not understand it .... but anyway.
Furthermore if Putin was a dictator then he would be elected by 99% as the guy in North Korea like you correctly said. I wonder how you didn't spot the correlation when I told you he only gets 70%?
So no Putin is not a dictator, not even close. FCS Russia is a FEDERATION!! Have you ever seen a dictator running a united Federation as huge as the Russian Federation?
I'm trying to avoid the continual interleaving of quotes, which can get a bit tedious.
Nobody really cared about who ruled Russia before current events. Recent history has certainly shown it can more often than not be the case of better the Devil you know. So "regime change"? I think not.
I'm not sure what you mean by "
political activist" financed presumably by the ever evil Americans. Despite this actually being about Russia invading a neighbouring country, killing thousands there, flattening whole towns and causing 10 million to flee as refugees. Regardless, they are the heroes it seems. Obviously, they had no choice. Sorry - I'm a "stuck record", "Whining" or "cry me a river".
There is no "
Liberty, Democracy and free speech" in Vladimir Putin's Russia. Although, the subject of just what the population get to hear and see never provokes a mention from honourable forum members with your views on the matter. It's all instead about the "criminal" West's "Trash" MSM. Which is risible, hypocritical and frankly gets pretty boring.
Again, Assange has nothing to do with any of this. Perhaps you should raise a different thread?
You keep saying that I "
Don't understand" or am "
Confused". I suspect really though they're euphemisms for my not agreeing with your POV. I like to think I can see things from most perspectives. Perhaps I'm wrong. None of us are prefect.
Vladimir Putin has been the absolute ruler of Russia for 22 years. He totally controls all the organs of State. He tolerates no opposition or overt political criticism, repressing it when it becomes a potential threat absolutely ruthlessly, either by imprisonment or assassination. He's had no compunction about having critics eliminated, usually by some sort of "signature" means, designed to leave no doubt to all what opposing him can lead to, wherever they are in the World. Having circumvented the Russian Constitution he is now effectively - like Idi Amin - President for life. That is - the man ticks all the boxes in the Dictatorship survey. If it quacks like a duck.................
After a period of reasonable growth, and increasing standards of living, Russia's economy started to stagnate. That, due to the inherent contradictions of a State largely running, head-to-foot, on corruption. Putin thus became less and less popular. His invasion and annexation of Crimea went down well for a while but then things continued to deteriorate. His solution was the invasion and annexation of Ukraine. It ain't worked out too well.
I assume you mean "FFS".
