Yes I do once they understand what is going on. The fanatics on both sides certainly will take their hate to their grave, but ordinary folk will realise like most Cypriots that the Cyprus problem was a scenario written in USA and the local actors were employed to enact it and caused havoc. I meet Cypriots who have lost everything in 1974 and yet they have no hatred towards the other side.

Well Surovikin is going to be in Ukraine to direct the operations. He said it himself. He is currently in Moscow. This proves he is in a transitional state, and the current shelling of Energy infrastructure was decided before he was appointed. Why is it so difficult for you to understand the war has entered a new phase, and that's not because of him. What HE will do remains to be seen.

Spreading panic to the civilians is a war tactic. The Ukrainians are currently shelling civilians in Donesk on a daily basis. Nothing of that shows in Western media. Surovikin may try that too, but that's not how wars are won. Ukraine's houses are not made of mad bricks like in Syria...

Well, I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here (is that "confusion" ). It doesn't matter where the General is. He's the commander, the guy who commands and will undoubtedly have been doing so since his appointment. What's going on entirely fits his "form," which is a matter of easily verifiable, long record. Moreover, the reason he's obviously been appointed is - and I don't think it's contentious? - to get the job done in his own particular way.

What does "Why is it so difficult for you to understand the war has entered a new phase, and that's not because of him." mean? It was clearly decided to significantly escalate attacks on Ukrainian civilians after the Kerch bridge event. By coincidence the day Surovikin was appointed. He has an excellent record when it comes to the tactic and is the obvious man for the job. I would add that the bridge was obviously a strategic military target, whereas lobbing missiles and kamikaze drones into Kiev in order to kill civilians and destroy their supporting infrastructure is clearly something entirely different.

The frequent contemptuous dismissal of any Western media is really nothing more than a tactic. Much beloved of Conspiracy Theorists in particular. People who insist you have to search deep for hidden "independent" sites to find out the "real truth". It's nothing more than a crude attempt at confining debate within usually very prejudiced parameters. There must be literally thousands of news sources in the West. To insist - as some do - that they've all been taken over by somebody or other and are being compelled to push out a common mantra, or are conjointly agreeing to blacklist some events, is absurd. A convenient way of avoiding awkward views.

The case you cite (much like GR's insistence that protests in the West have been news blacklisted) is simply untrue. Right here you can find, today in the CM:

You can find pages of stories about the Ukrainian shelling of Donetsk. It isn't true that those events are being blacklisted.
