An American breath of fresh air…

Russia’s strategic weakness is not her military. Her weakness is her respect for international rules of war and her desire not to harm the Ukrainian population in the interest of good relations once the Nazi elements are removed. The Kremlin actually cares about what people think. This is a frustration and a weakness for Russia, because she has no way of controlling the narrative. Whatever Russia does will be painted black, so she might as well do whatever is necessary to clear out the Nazis before she is faced with a self-imposed stalemate. The Kremlin does not seem to understand that if only Russia abides by international law, there is no international law. Indeed, the Western countries do not even abide by their own domestic laws.

NB: Unable to confirm this with my Internet fact-weighting gauge yet, so nobody should be partying or crying just yet...

Russia stops oil supplies to United States

If true it's the biggest news of the day but I'm still iffy about it...

Good analysis, however:

It's not only the neo Nazis who got prepared for street war. It's every Ukrainian patriot.
There is no way the Ukrainians would ever become friendly to the Russians anymore, and there is no way an affiliated Ukrainian government would ever get the support of the people.

Zelensky knows Russia has only 3 choices: a)Either turn Ukraine into dust with thousands of innocent victims, or b) enter a street war that would last for ever with even more victims on both sides, or c) encircle the Kiev cut off all supplies, electricity and water until they starve and surrender.
Obviously Russia has no choice but to follow "c" .

But even then who would control a country that would immediately after enter a civil war between pro and against the Russians factions?
Probably a quick and clever agreement between Zelensky and Russia is the only way forward.

Of course it's true it happened from the very first day, have you seen any tanker leaving Russia to sail towards the US? What for, to get "seized"??

This is two days old

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireSto ... n-83207789

Republican elected officials across the U.S. are criticizing President Joe Biden over his energy policies and urging his administration to do more to ramp up domestic production as a way to help wean the nation and its allies off oil from Russia. The sanctions imposed on Russia for its war with Ukraine so far do not include oil and gas exports from the country, a step that would severely hurt Russia’s ability to generate revenue.

Alexei Yerkhov, Russian ambassador to Turkey, told Habertürk that Moscow appreciates Ankara’s decision to shut down the Turkish straits for warships.

“I must say we appreciate the protection of the Montreux Convention, an important document of international law, and its implementation,” Yerkhov told the television.

Ukraine asked for it to be closed! and I thought that this doesn't actually help anyone but the Russians.

Ukraine don't have a navy, western allies cant get to the black sea with their navies so Russia is basically free to operate in the black sea unchallenged.

What Russia wants:
Plain and simple and not much under the circumstances. What about the sanctions??
https://english.pravda.ru/news/world/15 ... in_scholz/

It goes about the neutral and non-nuclear status of Ukraine, including the mandatory demilitarization of the country, as well as the denazification of the Ukrainian state, the recognition of Crimea as the Russian territory, and the sovereignty of the DPR and LPR within the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
