There are people here who have not quite grasped the situation. This is not about Ukraine; this is about Nato and expanding not only into the ex-Soviet territories but into Russia one by one till there is no Russia.

I wonder if people here really understand Nato, how it was formed. Do they really know what America did in Europe after the war till they set up Nato in 1949 so the European nations could not resist. Do they realise what happens to countries that do not serve the interest of Americans?

Knowing what America did to Cyprus, difficult to understand why any Cypriot would take the side of America. Very strange indeed.

The “sovereign” Cyprus only had its 48-year arms embargo lifted by America a week ago, to spite Turkey for parlaying with Russia… or it would’ve remained in place for another 148!

The “sovereign” Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Serbia, and Libya all got shafted by sovereign America and sovereign Britain in the past.

So what have we learnt from all this?

Well, just as in the political satire “Animal Farm” we learnt that “some animals are more equal than others” so too are some countries more sovereign than others!

Is answer question? :?

Anyway. Should, as you seem to be saying, we end up with Russia using a nuclear weapon, which I think could be entirely possible - the Russian population are already being primed with talk of western nuclear "blackmail" - then Mr Putin will be signing his own redundancy notice and Russia will be a friendless, pariah state for generations.

How come the USA did not become a pariah State after nuking Japan twice?

Wasn’t the justification for nuking was to save lives (American lives) and to end the war?

Can Russia not use the same justification for nuking Ukraine or does such justification is ONLY reserved for the collective West?

Just asking!

More Whataboutism. If you want to discuss that then raise a thread on the subject.

Did you by any chance know that what you call "whataboutism" is a valid, acceptable, and often required form of deleverying justice in courts?
So Mr Anti-whataboutist", I imply to you that you are a fascist. 8)

whataboutism
/ˌwɒtəˈbaʊtɪz(ə)m/
noun
the technique or practice of responding to an accusation or difficult question by making a counter-accusation or raising a different issue.

This thread is about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Nothing that happened in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, Serbia, and Libya. Not to mention the Martian atrocities, in anyway justifies or excuses what Russia is doing in Ukraine. Try - just occasionally - sticking to the thread subject.

FWIW, the principle lesson of Orwell's Animal Farm was that all power corrupts. That cannot be more appropriate than the power that Vladimir Putin has and continues to exercise - totally - which he has done ruthlessly for over two decades. May the man ultimately burn in Hell.

I kept wondering why the Russians don't just recapture the whole area?
Well, why should they? Isn't it a nice slaughterhouse as long as the Ukrs keep sending free meat ?

That neatly sums up the problem I have with people like you. Deranged.

Of what? Because the Ukrs keep on sending meat to the grinder every day for almost a month?

Well, actually I thought I was more somebody who leaned towards the pacifist side. I (hope) I don't gloat or glorify other people's deaths, sincerely regret what's come about and unlike, for instance, - love his cotton socks - Paphitis (not to mention a few Russian useful idiots in here) don't enthusiastically promote the conflict. I know it's needless to mention that great supporter of Jesus Christ's teachings, GR of course. Nor in fact you. Somebody who sits behind his keyboard (with a glass of hooch and perhaps some popcorn?) enjoying all those video clips of people being killed, fighting in defence of their country.

Sorry, I know, I'm "whining" again.

Ahh, laugh away. It's quite often the best you can offer.

Milti is certainly right in that you're a psychotic lunatic. I wonder why you seem to have such a death wish. :? I guess you have a seriously shite life. Apart from occasionally speaking very fondly of your Wife you seem to post nothing but of an infatuation with death. It sometimes appears your fondest wish is for mankind in its entirety to be wiped off the face of the Earth. I can't now and again help myself pitying you. :(

Ahhhh! I struck a nerve. The truth hurts, ehh?

You're the one who repeatedly rants, frothing at the mouth, about the desirability of hundreds of millions being killed in a global nuclear war, on the basis of nothing more than their race. When you're not preaching about the lack of compassion shown (in a Ukraine war thread :? ) over Palestinian children being killed by the Israelis in Gaza but............................. let me get this right................................... I'm the mentally ill one? :?
