If anything, you are the one trying to convince us that the British did so out of their compassion or something!

...loose face, or stay warm; the EU is in for a bitter winter either way.

(and what makes this imbroglio any different; even with prisoners to death burned in their cages not so long ago, what then did the EU do?)

...bitter winter in the Ukraine too.

February 2nd is a significant date to Russians. Their victory over Germany at Stalingrad. The day the WW2 tide turned for them.

We only depend about 5% of our gas supply from Russia so BoZo can sound as tough as he likes to save his skin, but when shit hits the fan, he wil pull everybody out of there. Of course mainstream media simply forgets when Cuba wanted to join the warsaw pact America objected to it and stopped it. Granada did not even wish to join that group but dared elect a socialist government and they were wacked. The double standards stinks to high heaven here. The stupidity of power play between the idiots on the ground in Ukraine and the assholes in the yanklands and of course the innocent civilians will suffer and pay the price as per usual.

People will never learn.

I don't think it is connected with that, it is more to do with the ground being frozen which makes it easier for the tanks to move. They will finish the fighting before the thaw sets in.

Last winter I think I was paying around €11.5 for the standard gas bottle you get in CY, but now thanks to Americas’ crises manufacturing the price has jumped to €15.5 p/bottle… and I don’t know if its heading any higher!

We’ve started to use the aircon system because it seems that gas has surpassed the cost of electric.

So I for one do not appreciate Americas’ fucking around the planet causing price hikes in hydrocarbons as it depreciates my pocket!

As for Americas’ hegemony, I couldn’t care less who is at the helm… they should pick a vast isolated patch of land like Greenland, take their military crap over there and blow each other up to smithereens for all I care… as long as they steer clear from the hydrocarbons.

There is no point in doing what you suggested because there is no benefit in that at all. Where as now their corporations are raking it in with expensive gas and petrol. We are paying and they are profiting. What can be better than that.

How else can they sustain their next to zero real value of US$?
I am equally afraid of WWIII, and the day when the planet goes green, while the US$ won't be able to sustain it's ficticious value from the hydrocarbons. The whole world would then go bankrupt, the haircuts would be International...
