Is this Paphitis’ anticipated Kherson recapturing offensive? <-- Sure looks like it!

The Russians already started taking the Mykolaiv Oblast (adjacent to the North of Kherson Oblast), and these dreamers thought they’d cut off the Russian supplies by destroying the 2 bridges.

Prefabricated multi story apartments? First time I ‘ve seen such a thing.
Let’s call our Russian brothers to come here teach us how to build cheap good apartments for our poor and devastated young generation, living on €850 monthly salary, while having to pay € 700 for rent!

You posted this before but never mind. It's my favorite. Tritsa, tritsche, triiiiii.
But this one misses the initial commands "Battalion ready, Fire at will" etc etc

I actually saw prefab multi-story buildings being made in Australia in the mid 90s.

Using this method you can erect a 5-8 storey apartment block in like 3-4 months instead of the 3 years it takes here in Cyprus!

As for the "trista", Thor compelled me to repost!

And now if you'll excuse me boys and girls... I've got 3 matches to go watch! :D

You are not comparing like for like GR. Cypriot houses were build for the climate with two layers of stone with mud in between 45 cm thick walls with similar size mud bricks 150 years ago still standing strong like they were built yesterday. Those pre-fabs are probably torn down by now.

I lived in one of those straw & mud brick houses pre-war Lordo, but I can’t say it was a good experience because when you live in a rectangle of dirt (dry mud) Mother Nature tends to move in with you!

I recall lines of ants running across the floor, insects, sparrows, and even baby snakes nesting in/on the external walls, so I don’t miss that kind of housing! :)

Interesting, I do not remeber any of that except the birds making nests at the top next to the rafters and occasional snake climing the wall to get the nest for food but of course the birds would raise the alarm and that would be the end of that snake. I seem to remeber this happened twice.

Snakes have learnt behaviour, so as none that acted that way survived, it was not a big problem.

When it comes to the construction of the buildings it is perfect for Cyprus weather both cold and hot. Can you imagine 18ft high ceiling and proper marble floors. It beats AC anyday. A small fan is all that you need for the summer.

In the summer of course you do not need to sleep inside, you can sleep under the trees in the orchard.

What a life that was. And it will be again. Started that way and will finish that way.
