Everyone was expecting the guy to finish it off in like two hours!

For your info, it took the US an entire 1.5 months to finish off tiny impoverished Panama in 1989!

Put that into perspective!

The US and some Nato countries couldnt finish Assad off or extinguish Daesh for best part of a decade.

Russia came in and mopped up in a matter of months.

Exactly!

The Ukraine is huge… the size of Turkey, so it’s a massive operation to undertake and the Russians did estimate that it would take them two weeks at the earliest.

So we're not being very fair are we DT?

Putin doesn’t have the stamina or resources (political and otherwise)to carry this on for more than a few days. This isn’t the desert, this is a European capital. It’s not my issue if you guys don’t understand this difference.

And all this is based on what exactly?

And no I don't understand the difference... it's not a European capital but an intra-USSR affair, so let's not elevate the Ukraine to Switzerland level!

Time will tell DT.

From my perspective, only a fool would expect to capture half the Ukraine in a week and Putin aint no fool.

This will get drawn out unless the Ukraine can successfully negotiate a ceasefire.

I am able to access RT online here in Switzerland. Perhaps because we are not a EU member state!

He didn’t foresee the government staying intact. This technophobe with the siesta habits of Anastasiades has been listening to yes men assuring him that the Ukrainian govt would topple and that they’d be welcomed into the Ukraine.

Again, this is European capital and he’s managed to rally together the west against him. The world has had enough of this guy and so has Russia. They’ve been embargoed for far too long and his cronies have been living on yachts. Putin is history. Just read the swift sanction drafting and this will be nuclear to the population of Russia.
