All other little conflicts will come to a complete standstill once Russia unleashes, at the realization that their problem is not so important after all.
The population of London's about 9 million. If such a thing should occur and the majority of them die either immediately or from the after effects, do you believe, as you've said previously, "the world would celebrate like never before"?
I was referring to the US' demise leading to global celebration, minus the West of course.
Would the UK/US likely retaliate? If so, what effect do you think that would have on Russia and for that matter the planet?
Yes, they have about 60 Tridents but they're 80s and 90s technology and should be easy pickings for the many S-400s protecting major Russian towns and cities.
Yes, I'm sure all other conflicts would come to a standstill. Not though because of any realisation of problem size. The world - in total - would have much bigger problems.
I misunderstood. When you said the world would celebrate like never before I didn't realise you were only referring to the 350 million inhabitants of the USA dying in a global nuclear exchange. Everybody else carrying on just as before - only it seems much better according to you.
You've avoided my point about the 9 million population of London. Does the idea most of them would die, in your "Boys' Own" fantasy scenario bother you at all?
The UK Tridents have 215 warheads. The USA has over 5000. The French have about 300. As Russia would apparently be "
unleashing them everywhere" I suppose they ought to be included in the equation. Do you think any of those might get through?
AFAIK the S400 is still short of an ICBM capability. Even were that not the case the warheads would be coming in at about 13000 mph (yes - they're "hypersonic") and include decoys, designed to confuse. Even what's left of the missile itself is designed to fragment and create a huge cloud of incoming metal chaff.
So - I guess Mr Putin would have to be sure because it doesn't take many getting through to turn Russia into a country of scavenging survivalists. Just like us. I'm assuming he doesn't end up with the same mental problems you have of course. In which case humanity is clearly fucked. That's the trouble with dictators though. All the eggs are in one basket and they tend to be surrounded by people telling them what they want to hear. Or else.
How will you cope, do you think? When that 100kt warhead goes off 3000 feet above Akrotiri? Possibly another, at Dhekelia? There are plenty to go around, after all.
I think what's going on tonight on this forum is another battle of the Cabernet Sauvignons.
