Several thousand Serbs gathered on Friday evening in downtown Belgrade, carrying Russian flags and declaring the countries' “brothers forever.” The rally, dubbed ‘Not in My Name’, protested last week’s vote of the Serbian envoy to the UN to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council, which President Aleksandar Vucic said came only after immense pressure from the West.

Protesters gathered around 7pm local time at the monument to Nicholas II, the last Russian emperor, and marched through downtown Belgrade to the Russian embassy chanting, “Serbs and Russians – brothers forever!” and “Kosovo is Serbia, Crimea is Russia!”

Officially, the rally was in protest of last week’s vote at the UN General Assembly, when Serbia joined a total of 93 countries favoring Moscow’s suspension from the UN Human Rights Council. Russia subsequently left the panel. Vucic appeared on national television after the vote and said his government originally intended to abstain, but was then subjected to “countless and difficult pressure.”

There is NOT any credible reason why this should happen. Thousands from both sides killed, children left orphans, how on earth can anyone justify this barbaric invasion. Let's excuse the Turkish invasion then of our Cyprus.

Ohh, come on Milti. This is the best fun they've ever had on this forum. Don't go spoiling it.

Try to bear in mind that the Ukrainians killed are not real people of course. Babies, infants, toddlers, teenagers, Mums, Dads, etc. They're just "baboons" and this is basically a sort of ..................PC video game.

You're taking it all far too seriously IMHO.

Absolutely. If Britain had capitulated to Nazi Germany in June 1940 so many lives could have been saved.

Nobody capitulates when he has a certain chance of winning.
And that's the reason the West is supplying Ukraine with armaments. To keep that little chance for as long as possible to cause as much destruction and human lives cost to Russia. At the same time the same cost is been paid by Ukraine, however the target for the West is Russia.

Isn't that what Japan did after Hiroshima and Nagasaki to save lives?

:? How does that apply to my analogy? Which was in response to Lordo's suggestion the West shouldn't supply Ukraine with weapons. That, in order to - ipso facto - expedite a Russian victory and so save lives.

It is very relevant actually. Didn't you state that Russia will eventually be victorious in Ukraine? That being the case, why must more people die first until then? Japan surroundered and then prospered. Same would have happened if Tokyo was next on the list, only more dead, no? Japan was not without weapons at the time to challenge their enemy. They were just out gunned!
