It's a line that's drawn, that China should heed with its own expansionistic ambitions; their supply line is in tatters, having lost a lot of clients due to this aggressive behaviour going a little too far.
...burning oil is passe in any case; Russia in that regard is already far behind, (and it will happen sooner now) beyond this war, after this war, energy in terms of its consumption will be represented by an entirely different technological frontier where Russia it seems has nothing to offer (by its own dependence on oil revenue), except as a client for these sources of energy other than oil.
