...what is collateral damage; what choices do they have?

You forget at the very start of this conflict that it was Russia that fired on shipping (in International waters).

...so far, the Ukraine's success on the Black Sea is limited to Russian assets; their intentions seem pretty clear, unlike Russian actions.

Really RW. so the west imposing sanction on Russians was not an attack on trade?

Are we going to play who started it?

Lets face it, if your opponent has a gun and you just have a stick, it is stupid to poke them.

...the menace of a Marine Disaster in the Black Sea; the conversation.

it is stupid not to poke them sometimes.

...it must have a very chilling affect in Moscow, when in Russian waters, (by "sticks") a war ship and a tanker are both struck effectively.

All the reason why Russia will want to cut Ukraine off completely from the Black Sea by taking all of it’s coastal areas, including Odessa.

That would be a neat trick. It’s clearly reached a stalemate. The days of such advances probably over. Each side basically relying upon events outside of their control.

Agent Zelensky parts 1 and 2.
Interesting investigation however the connection between facts and truth is based on Scott's personal view. A lot of work left for the future historians.

There is always a seemingly stalemate period in wars of attrition. Actually it's not complete stalemate because the Russians are advancing in Kupyansk region.
Do you want to bet who will collapse first?

Hint:The ones who already run out of ammunition , currently using alternative cluster bombs to last a bit longer.

I agree!

At the Moment Russia’s number one job in Ukraine is to decimate the Ukrainian forces and equipment. Once that is accomplished, the Russians will be able to move anywhere they wish in Ukraine. The West can supply Ukraine military hardware and ammunition, but not military personnel, and without sufficient trained military personnel, military hardware is not of any use to make a dent in Russia’s long term objectives.

Zelensky has made it easy for Russia to see their SMO succeed whatever time it may take since he refuses to any peace talks as long as Putin is in office and also acceptance of his 10 point peace proposals by the Russia. Two of Zelensky’s main demands which will never be met, therefore, the fighting will continue since Ukraine has no choice but to continue with their losing counter offensive no matter how destructive it is for them, just to please their masters in the West, losing thousands of men just in the last 2 months alone. Russians were losing thousands of men when they were in the offensive position last year, but now, it is the Ukrainians who are losing in masses. War of attrition without deadline can only favour Russia because of their superior numbers in every sector vs. Ukraine’s. Basic arithmetic really!

...nothing to see here, even CNN quotes the ''Russian'' sources that say this is fireworks; more smoking i suppose.

i think new tactics, and strategy have evolved; Moscow will see more of this daring.

This is a very interesting video on Russian defenses in Ukraine and why the Ukrainians are having a very difficult time penetrating them.
