So you think Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia and Turkey will accept this?

Total Russian container volume on the Black Sea in H1 2022 has shrunk by 7.7 percent year-on-year, while laden volume has dropped by 11.1 percent. Certain global shipping lines have been rapidly decreasing their activities since March 2022 in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Presumably if it is down by 7% they can increase the trade through the Baltic Sea which.

It is not so easy. Port facilities are a big factor, and most run at high capacities to maximise their profitability, if they have the required facilities at all.

Basically, it’s all about oil.

In the absence of any significant pipeline capacity the Russians have been shipping a lot of their oil to India and China via the Black Sea.

Look at a map and you will understand why the Baltic isn’t an option.

Not me then. I’m 5’ 2” and have never harboured any expectations of a Ukrainian (military) victory. Actually, for a while now, none of a Russian one either.

We’ve all fundamentally become losers in this fiasco.

Although, I suppose it depends upon your interpretation of “victory”, which seems to me to be a very subjective thing. :?

If the US Secretary of Defense wasn't knowingly lying under oath to the Congress, then how would our resident 292038 ® know the magnitude of his nonsense ?

Let me remind you that you correctly said "no one in the Black Sea will have an easy time of it insuring their ships or cargo.' This includes the Countries I mentioned, which ARE NOT part of the war.
So why should those countries, accept getting harmed by Ukrainian actions, that harm not only Russia, but themselves as well?
