Even go as far as disarm as it is the best way of not being attacked. It will give their economy a chance to recover and grow with no weapons, just like Japan and Germany did after WW2.
I think the Ukrainians should accept the neutral status of Ukraine but the territorial integrity of country shouldn't be negotiable. The world wont recognize that and that should be something the Russians have to compromise on.
Disarming provides no defense, how is that the best way of not being attacked? That doesn't stop or deter someone from attacking you, you muppet.
As it can be seen unless the majority in a country know how to handle democracy, they allways abuse the minority and it leads to war. Especially if the minorty is a group from a much bigger country.
There is no going back for Ukraine. They had their chance and ruined it just like the GCs. There is only one way to move forward and that is a federal structure or split. Current UN is not fit for pupose and is unable to deal with issues when abuses take place.
Certainly Ukraine should be neutral between east and west and so should all the other ex-soviet states. Accepting American sweets to allow weapons on their land is a mistake and will backfire on them sooner or later. America has no business poking its nose in the affairs of countries 3000 miles away. They should be sent packing where they belong from al lover the world. Till this happens there will be no peace which is exactly what they want as they can sell more weapons.
