I don’t know about the opening ceremony but Putin is a fanatic ice hockey player/fan so I suspect he’ll attend once the IH quarterfinals commence, in which Russia should qualify.

Didn't you have a credit crunch because of all the loans for those "expensive cars".

Come off it man! Cypriots don't know what an expensive car is. The Mercedes they drive are just consumer level base models.

If you want a Mercedes, you either go all the way or don't go at all. And you just don't see the expensive AMG V8s and V12s

If you do not buy the top line Mercedes v8 or BMW M3 performance car, you are just a pretender looking for a label to pretend your are special. A real car enthusiast will not waste their time with anything less and isn't seeking a label but pure hair razing racing performance on a car that is race trackable and gets the heart pumping more than even a blond bimbo.

Pretenders should really stick to the Hyundai 120, or get themselves a KIA, or Toyota Yaris because that's where they belong.

You guys don't like big cars because you don't like paying the registration, so you leave the big stuff to us where driving real cars is our God given right

Does driving an expensive car make one man better than another ? Car is just a mode of transport although for pretentious ...millionaires such is you is a status symbol.
Happiness in life isn't driving an expensive car but being void of pretentiousness , down to earth and realizing that money isn't the main ingredient of happiness but merely a contributory element.

My car isn’t a status symbol! It’s a friggin tonka truck!

To answer your question, no a car does not create a man. But tell that to the Cyprus who revere the three prongs and prance about like they are precious.

Look, my point was that there are fake Mercedes. Anyone can virtually afford to buy one. They are a crap and cheaply made car to a budget. There is no point buying one rather than a Toyota. Unless you are a car enthusiast who will not buy a Mercedes but a Mercedes V8 AMG GR.

And yeh, that’s a car to tear up the bitumen in. But you will find that for car enthusiasts, it’s about the horsepower, acceleration, and speed.

So it’s easy to spot the pretentious ones. They drive the cheapest and shittiest Mercedes which is a shit car to boot. Just after the badge. Those who have a race performance Mercedes AMG are a different kettle of fish.

You strike me as someone who doesn’t go past 60 :D

The longest drive in Cyprus is about 2.5 hours and most towns and cities are full of potholes and speed humps.

Parking is also becoming increasingly difficult as each house has 2-3 cars with one parked in the driveway and the rest out on the street!

So the best cars for Cyprus are the 1.3ltr to 1.5ltr 4 cylinder, 5-door hatches like the Toyota Yaris.

They may not look “cool” but if you want to be practical and economical, that’s what’s ideal for Cyprus.

Oh and as a very useful bonus, such cars effortlessly convert to a mini-van! :D

ie: You can fit a 6-chair dining table in the back… I’ve done it with a Honda Jazz!

What a joy it is when they tell you they want another 30 bucks for the delivery and you tell them that that won’t be necessary!

You are talking about practical cars.

I could never survive in a little car like that. I do like my motoring very much and love cars, but not for pretentious reasons.

In Adelaide we are so lucky as well because if you have that nice performance car you can actually track it on an actual certified Grand Prix track.

That’s where all the petrol heads go.

There’s a misconception that such cars are “small” but on the inside they’re not small at all, and they certainly don’t feel small when you drive them.

If you take away a sedan’s long boot and elongated front… you’ve got a modern hatch ready to take all the punishment you can give it!

I used to drive a 6 cylinder sports car in Perth but that’s only because I was young and stupid. The older you get... the wiser your decisions.

As one gets older they become wiser and realize that some things they considered important in their younger days are just ....shit. i have always loved Jaguars, once only I had a Merc. My current Jag which I have had since 2003 is by far the best car I have had. Before that i had an XJ12, 12 FUCKING cylinders, two tanks for patrol, one on eithet side. How fucking stupid I must have been. 8 miles to the gallon, it gave me nothing but trouble. Im now considering buying a Donkey in order to blend in with all the pther donkey rides on Cyprus roads.
