Were quite happy thanks, anythings better than trying to be wiped off the Island by Greek Junta and then starved for 30 years, now ambargo;s are getting lifted, thanks "Powers" lol[/quote]

That is why there will be no solution you prefer to victimise yourselves. The Cyprus part you occupied for so many years you reduce to nothing you destroyed everything and now you want the Greeks to thank you for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the GC villages and churches in the North are intact, they are poorly maintained but none has been destroyed.
On the other hand most of the Turkish villages in the South today are completley destroy and in many cases houses are not identifiable.

Piratis, Americans tend to oversimplify everything and see everything in sound bytes. Leonidas for some reason has accepted the tone that is set by the State Department, i.e. it is Greek Cypriot intransigence that is the barrier to a solution on Cyprus, meanwhile the proverbial elephant in the living room, the Turkish military, calls the shots. I am tired of it.

Condie and Bryza can eat my shorts. I am an American and I see everything detereorating around me. George Bush who is won on a "moral values" campaign has engaged in the most immoral crusade of the century. Debate has been sabotaged and people in the US are becoming dumber and dumber as the years progress. They could pass just about any legislation, engage in any foreign policy they want without any resistance.

No one has any idea about what is happening here. I can understand the outrage of the world at US arrogance, but from my perspective, I see it as a great tragedy.

If anyone is interested here is the English translation of the Drousiotis article on Kissinger:

GO to the cemmetary at Agios Amvrosios see how "intact 'it is. The church has been desecrated as has the church of the Archangle Michael in neighbouring Chartzia.

Most Mosques in the south are in better shape than they were pre '74 BG Turk they are even being restored so think before you bullcrap.

kalamara with the sad date, firstly welcome to the forum.

firtsly, reading some of leonidas post i can bet you all that he is not a bush supporter. typical attitude, everyone who does not agree with us...

second, i wouldnt go as far as mentioning drousiotis. trust me  some people that you agree with you here dont even want to see his face on painted on a picture. if u r really interested in drousiotis work i would advice you to visit his website. he is one of those who has made a lot of research concerning the faults of the british and the americans. so long he did that we all liked him. then, he made tha mistake of extending the research on the faults ouf our own society. do you know what that means ?.... that he takes money from the americans... we know it. for sure...

third, i have the feeling that, lately and sadly it is not just the americans who blame us for the non-negotiations.

TAKE A WALK AND LOOK AROUND THE OCCUPIED LAND AND FEEL THE SHAME OF YOU ACTIONS.

On the Greek side you can find that they have respected your religious building but it is been 30+ years so yes some houses have fallen down.

At least you can get compensation where the Greeks have to knock on the door and ask the illegal occupants to let them in. you must understand that you can’t defend the indefensible.

Itallian, NO I CANT

My families home was burned to the ground, the land robbed and razed and our family forced to flee.

There is no compensation, no house back, no land back, boo hoo we got over it and worked hard and have a home in the Turkish Cyprus now.

You fools think everything will be handed to you on the plate while you laze around, we learned a long time a go this is never the case and you goto work to get what you want.

Also our home was destroyed in NON-WAR TIME, by Greek Junta while we were UN-ARMED get it. Non-war sistuation where Greek Army attacks innocent villagers.

You try to compare this to 1974 in which there was a WAR.

Now lets try break this down for you so you maybe just maybe may get it.

pre 1974 = Non-War scenario, innocent Turks massacred by Armed Greek Junta

1974 = War scenario, Armed Turks vs Armed Greeks, means fair war, Greeks lost, Turks were liberated, we have our state and are free and safe and so do you.
