"Action needs to be taken"

What do you suggest? Lets sign over the free areas to the Turks as well then we won't be defensive and isolated

I do not have anything good to say about TPapadopoulos. He is an old man with a Old mind! He seems very boring who can hardly give a rational speech! He also seems uncertain on many aspects of the cyprus problem. Kyprianou and Papadopoulos were exactly at the same line of thought! I cant think of anything good to describe both of them.

On the other hand Vasiliou and Clerides had a better image! And at least they both knew the basics about Politics!

From where I stand Papadopoulos seems to lack political imagination.
He can solve Cypro within 10 years if he had a bit more imagination and a bit more courage. How?

Make it more attractive for Cypriotturks to live and work in the R o C.
Talat is petrified that Papadop will invite the Cypriotturks to return with full political rights.I am talking about one vote one value type democracy, backed up by human rights for all protected not by the EU but by Cypriot institutions (Human rights and Equal employment opportunity commissions etc).If Cypriotturks realise Papadop is serious about protecting their human rights, and give them real responsibility in running Cyprus they will return to the South, leaving only the settlers in the North plus some hardliner nationalists and those too old to move.Turkey will have no legitimate excuses to stay in Cyprus.By the time turkish accession to EU becomes a real possibility (10 to 15 years) Turkey will be looking for an excuse to get out of Cyprus without losing face. What better excuse than being invited by the Cyprus parliament to please end its presence in Cyprus, especially if that Parliament has,say,20% Cypriotturk MPs???

i am not sure, if the tcs would run to the south bir. you can say you will never know unless u try ?
but, when it comes down to the level of people it could be a real catalyst for the trust factor. and there are ways to do that, without "loosing" sth on the political level. yet, like good christians we are, for whatever we do, we demand sth back. winning over the others, or if i loose so should they is THE principle that giude us in our way of solving the cyppro.
it is true, in such cases, it is the majority who has to be more generous, but still we havent learned from our mistakes. bc the benefits for such generosity are usually not matereial.

NEW world needs new blood. Put the past behind us and go on.

That is the biggest problem with politics in Cyprus. There are too many oldies still floating around. Get some new blood in, new ideas, new ways of thinking and perhaps something will actually get done! The Green Party seems a good option for Cyprus. They are actually putting something back INTO Cyprus rather than taking and lining their own pockets.

Stop with the talking and get on with some action......

Referring to the Annan Plan, which i voted yes to at the time i was in Cyprus (after doing my army service etc)

I think the reason the Greeks rejected is that SERIOUSLY, you do not see us as your equals. You cannot share power with us cause you are use to Greek rule. I COULD IMAGINE WHEN A TURKISH PRESIDENT COMES INTO POWER WHAT THE REACTON IN CYPRUS WOULD BE! We will also be SHILO's to you.

You used the refugees as an excuse. EVERY REFUGEE WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPENSATED WITH EVEN HALF RETURNING TO MORPHOU, KARPASO AND AMMOSCHOTTOS (which would have returned to Greek rule). And yet you still said no. That really does worry me.
Turks wouldnt be able to return to their home since 90% were destroyed by the Greek administration.

Turkish Troops would have dropped from 30,000 to a mere 6,000. Same with the the Hellas Army. Still you say NO. Eventually all troops within 5 years would have left the island. And STILL, you say no.

YOUR EXCUSES; ETHNIC CLEASING etc etc.

Only time the Greeks will say yes to a solution in majoritys are when you get full power and we get nothing.
I CONGRATULATE THE GREEK CYPRIOTS WHO SAID YES IN THE REFERENDUM. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO "GENUNINELY" WANT PEACE!

TurkCyp1 I totally agree.

The thing is alot of Gc's actually Clocked onto the chance they threw in the bin and DEEPLY REGRET IT, they can't believe what they threw away.

And so now, we here all these types of PATHETIC excuses, paranoid conspiracy stories and blame games comming from the Gc's.

Face it you screwed up, our worldwide image got a boost and there ARE NO MORE SECOND CHANCES, this isnt a game, you had your chance and BLEW it.

Just be honest, you have a racist hate preaching Leader and your Church tells you that living with a Turk is like going to HELL, you dont respect us, dont care about us and now are pretending to play the nice game so that we may MIRACULOUSLY vote YES again  , they'll be no more YES I also shamefully voted YES, NEVER AGAIN EVER NETIHER MY FAMILY OR DISTANT FAMILY OR FRIENDS ITS NO NO NO from now on.

We gave you a second chance after all you did to us, its ok we get the HINT when were not wanted.

Now have nightmares about the day we recieve a full lifting of Ambargo's and eventual recognition, if your young your gonna see it in your lifetime hehe, if your old you'll be lucky to die b4 seeing it.

I personally want to see Turkish Cypriots more active in the Republic of Cyprus. I want them in the Government, I want them in the Councils I want them working with Greek Cypriots. I think its stupid to wait for "a solution" to be imposed formally.

The Coexistence of all Cypriots in the absence of a formal "solution" is the best thing Cypriots can can work towards to show the world that Cyprus is not a child and then the Taksimists will not be able to say "Oh but Greeks and Turks cannot share neighbourhoods.- United Cypriots
will be able to say to those Taksimists bullSHIT.

Lala Mustafa Pasha would have turned in his grave if he could read your post,LMP.He was an Ottoman of Serbian origin, and would've rather died than gloat like you over other people's misery and misfortune.
Let me tell you a story.I come from a little village near Paphos and my family owned a lot of land and property there. My mother is now 86 years old and she hasn't been to her village since 1968.And there is nothing to go back to now,and it will kill her to see it in its present state. So it is very likely that she will die before any solution to Cypro is found, before she could get any form of compensation for her loss.
I would like to think that no GC (refugee or otherwise) would wring his/her hands in cruel amusement, like you are doing above, about her predicament.Even in hot and cold warfare there is a human line which should not be crossed. You have crossed that line with your post above.
You are a disgrace to the nation you say you belong

Booo Hooo

BirDangalak

Hmm, someones missing the point, Mustafa Efendi got revenge on the Crusader Scum after the defeat of Lepanto and in a fantastic Millitary manouver liberated Cyprus.

Boshnaks are of Slav origin, however, their Muslim and so suffer genocides and are called a TURK whereever they go by Christian Serbians, our Boshnak Musluman Brothers wave Turkish Flags and are great friends of ours.

Mustafa Efendi was an Ottoman, he was Muslim therefore no-longer a Serbian, you obviously have no notion of Pax-Ottoman, or Pax-Turcica and that people could adopt Turishness and race doesnt mean anything to us

Oh and if you find my post so offensive all I can do is laugh at how pathetic you are, 2 minutes with a Greek and you'd be crying your eyes out if you can't take my last post which doesnt attack Greeks lol

and would've rather died than gloat like you over other people's misery and misfortune.

Misery? Misfortune? Gloating,

Let me tell you somthing, my families home was razed to the ground, member were slaughtered, our land occupied, we were put in a enclave like en-closed animals however, my family managed to flee to the UK and this is the reason I am alive today.

So dont give me your pathetic stories that you can't visit your home.

GET UP OFF URE LAZY ASS, BUY A PLANE TICKET TO THE GREEK CYPRUS AND GO AND SEE URE EX-HOME AND HOW THE GREEKS HAVE RAPED IT.

I dont expect you to care about the suffering of Turks, its not in your nature.

Anyway, my families home has been destroyed, there's no point crying over spilt milk, we moved on, worked hard and have our own home now in Turkish Cyprus, among our Turkish people, where we are safe and welcomned and dont need to be alert waiting for Greek Terrorists with Modern Millitary Equipment and Armies attacking INNOCENT VILLAGERS.

1974 Peace Operation was a breath of fresh air.

Turks dont Bow to ANYONE, we wont be ordered by Greeks what to do, what we can and can't have.

They had there chance THEY SCREWED UP.

I couldnt care what they do in Greek Cyprus, its Greek, nothing to do with us, they can do as they please I hope they have fun and leave our innocent people alone.

We survived 15 Years of Genocide by Greek Terrorists and Junta

We survived 30 years of being Starved and Impovrished.

Dont worry were sturdy people, we can survive and we've weathered the storm, if you couldnt destroy us when you had the chance well you missed your chance.

As you can see, the world image of Turks is being really improved, Sanctions are being lifted, were getting flights from other nations.

Just shows, if you hold out for long enough you can achieve.

Patience is a Virtue.
