New cooperation between two unions in Cyprus

Postby Lordo » Thu Dec 16, 2021 9:51 pm

There has been an agreement between Turk-Sen and SEK to register 8,000 young original TC workers as union members in the south so they can get employment and be protected by the union. (SEK may be PEO but I am not sure). It was also mentioned to me that the union has more power placing workers in jobs than the government. How that works perhaps somebody can explain.

It will be mainly Tourism (65%), Restaurant and Construction workers.

I think this is the first time there is cross membership between the communities.

Who told you about this arrangement?

its going to be difficult, because the jobs in those sectors are taken by immigrants,

Another thing that will work against the TC's interests is that the psuedo regime is sending over "refugees" that will likely take those jobs, if they are eligible for asylum.

Before you begin to make accusations first learn the subject otherwise you make a fool of yourself. You have not got a clue.
Read the title again and the post. Who said anything about TRNC sending workers south?

While I am posting this I am listening to this song and it seems appropriate.

poverty has no race.

I dont understand a thing, furthermore

The psuedo regime is sending irregular migrants south and these jobs are usually taken by immigrants.

read, understand, engage brain, then reply.

Clearly you did not understand anything. Perhaps somebody will explain.

In the meantime.

It's true Maximus, but for the moment the info is available in Greek and Turkish only.
Maybe tomorrow we will have it in some of the English newspapers.

Of course the salaries will be as much as the vast majority of our youth get today 850 Euro gross, which after deductions for social insurance and GESY drops down to 780 in pocket. That's where we ended up our sons and daughters. Rents for an average apartment 500-600 Euro, no wonder young couples live together today like dogs, without marriage without having kids. this is the REALITY in the RoC...

The last time this was the case, was it not also the case that those trying to foster such co operation were themselves attacked by elements within their own respective communities ?
