Amid an increase in far-right violence against migrants and organisations supporting people on the move in Cyprus, EU’s Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) praised Cypriot authorities for its “successful” immigration strategy. During a meeting with the Cypriot interior minister, Constantinos Ioannou, the head of Frontex’s Liaison Office for Greece and Cyprus, Grigorios Apostolou, congratulated Cyprus’ “commitment and efficiency” regarding migration management and conveyed Frontex’s readiness to “continue its support to Cyprus and strengthen cooperation for even better results”. Mr Ioannou spoke about the importance of Frontex’s presence in the region, saying: “the tightening of EU border controls by Frontex will contribute to better border surveillance along the Eastern Mediterranean route and prevent irregular arrivals.”

(believe it or not), kudos for Cyprus.

Fourteen migrants find themselves stranded in the buffer zone near the University of Cyprus campus in Aglantzia.

The Republic of Cyprus’s temporary suspension of asylum applications prevents their entry into government-controlled areas.

The stranded group includes women and children from Afghanistan, Sudan, Cameroon, and Iran.

The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) are collaborating to provide assistance.

At the end of March, Cyprus hosted around 43,000 international protection beneficiaries, including those with both refugee and subsidiary protection status. Around 30,000 people had asylum applications or appeals pending, according to the UNHCR. There are no statistics available regarding how many asylum seekers in Cyprus are currently homeless.

Greece and Cyprus are the smallest economies in the region and the rest of the EU must help by not only offering assistance but taking refugees into Europe.

Europe had a hand in what as been happening in the trouble spots around the world and they must help out the very refugees they have caused.

The Europeans must not go down the rest of the SwineCunts, they must find their conscience.

I see the clip shamefully refers to them as migrants. The cunt asks the man from Sudan who is he escaping from. I wish I was there when he posed the question. He would have got a mouth full ending with AME MAVRO YIREVGE
And now Finland has decided the break International Law and turn away refugees back into Russia. It is one shit show.

Its time the UN packed its bags and went. They serve no useful purpose in Cyprus or anywhere else.

They are not stranded, they can go back to the "TRNC" or "Turkey". This is a just a shit show full of bollox.

I would also like to point out that Turkey has and receives billions in EU assistance for this exact purpose, as do many surrounding countries. There is a readmission agreement between Turkey and the EU too for people like this to stay on Turkeys territory. In other words, anyone using Turkey as a transit country to enter the EU should be returned to Turkey and Turkey is obliged to take them back. What else are the funds being used for?

However, it always seems to be the case that Europe has to take in the whole world and mugs like you think these people are "stranded".

They went their on their own free will and they can go back north or to Turkey on their own free will too.

Tartar or Erdogan can also intervene and Bordo can start criticizing his own "government" for not helping these people, after all, they are Muslim brothers and sisters and part of the ummah. I wont hold my breath.

Everything in my comment is true and that is a fact.

I Didn't expect an intelligent reply from an uncouth plonker like you though or to even think that "your people" should do something to help.

All you are good for is virtue signalling on someone else expense.
