There is an old saying, do what the teacher says not what he does. Never the less, in 2 years time when I return home, thats exactly what I am going to do.

So the answer is yes I will.

I will go one stage further, I will grow only organic stuff and share wiith the family and friends only.

Pyrpolizer wrote:Oops sorry, I thought yours was a hybrid. Regardless there must be something more than the "8 years" term accompanying your guarantee, as the lifetime of these batteries depends on the number of charges/discharges. E.g. A mobile phone uses similar batteries. If you consume your battery during the day (many people do) and charge it every night, it won't last more than 4-5 years.

Teslas are quite common around where I live (EVs make up for 62% of units sold in 2021) and a huge number of them has been on the road for more than 5 years. Believe me, there's a lot of fuzz regarding Tesla, but not so much regarding their capacity. One Chinese manufacturer has started a new and maybe fruitful business model where you don't charge the battery. The whole battery pack is replaceable, so you simply subscribe to a lease where you have the whole unit switched in a few(?) minutes. Personally I prefer to charge it myself - I was down to 28% when I came home tonight and used max 30 seconds to hook it up. It will be full by tomorrow morning, and all I have to do is to unhook it again.

EV’s are not quite feasible atm. Especially in large countries where travelling long distances are required.

Bigger chance they will work in places like Cyprus.

Also, need to replace the battery pack every 6 to 8 years and that is expensive.

Hybrids are better.

I’m not touching them.

Hybrids and EV cars are not cheaper than an ICE. First it’s the cost of buying then factor the costs of charging every night.

The environmental controls on cars are also very bad, and bad for your car.

The first thing most sensible people do on a Diesal is remove them, and install a catch can.

If you know what’s good for you and your pocket.

The Government will never tell you this that all the emissions controllers are basically a death sentence on your car over a little time.

As my last post in this thread, here’s a part of the email I sent the minister of transport which I hope and assume he has received...

People are suffering extreme poverty all over the world and here you are discussing how you can help these corporations causing poverty to keep going. All under the guise that you are trying to save the planet. Hell it will.

I guess it may be if it suited the nararive of the corporations but hell will freeze over first.
