He can officially enlist in the armed forces of Ukraine, thus he should be a prisoner of war now that he has been captured and released as soon as the war ends. Or as part of some prisoner exchange.

But the Russian separatist court (probably kangaroo) have chosen to trial him as a mercenary. Ignoring the fact that he is a Ukrainian citizen, living in Ukraine and that he couldn't avoid being drafted.

This is what I am reading.

Its not as you are making it out to be!

Yet nobody was able to publish an image of his Ukrainian passport and/or ID card… surely now would be the right time to do so!

You're just another easy victim of British propaganda, Maximus.

Btw... and nowhere in his many YT videos (he was allowed to make 2-3 videos which his lawyer was uploading) does he personally claim to be a holder of Ukie citizenship!

Sounds good but you can't publish something like that. GDPR innit.

But you are quite right, there should be proof somewhere and someone might have already verified it.

However, you are giving too much credibility to a "courts" verdict that is not internationally recognized.

Apparently, Aiden Aslin is an (indirect) supporter of the RoC, as he criticized the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus as well as Britain's weapons sales to Turkey.

If he really is a mercenary GR, this is the type of guy that would come and fight for Cyprus.

Something to think about.

Max, the first paragraph from the link you had posted says this

A British man sentenced to death by a Russian proxy court for fighting in Ukraine has been told the execution will be carried out, his family have said
.

A British man......end of.

Perhaps Zelensky has made him a citizen of Ukraine since being captured with a doctored date of his citizenship just to throw a monkey wrench into the mix, but I have never heard from him claiming to be a citizen of Ukraine. He may have been a legal resident, but not a citizen. In fact, I once read that he was hoping to become a citizen by being in the Ukrainian army.

Of course he is British, he will never stop being British.

If he was Nigerian, with Ukrainian citizenship, Nigerian state media will also be saying "A Nigerian man sentenced to death by a Russian proxy court for fighting in Ukraine".

Have you got any proof he hasn't got Ukrainian citizenship or nationality?

Here is an image from 2018, when he became a marine. Can you enlist in the Ukrainian army as a British man without Ukrainian citizenship?

It’s impossible for me to evaluate someone based on a notion that he "MIGHT" have come to our aid, and not to mention that I find it irrelevant to his deeds in the Ukraine.

Unlike some Cypriots, I don’t get easily confused by comparisons between the CyProb and the UkiProb… I don’t fall for such fallacy as every conflict in the world is unique.

To those that think there are similarities between the two, then they should’ve also seen similarities with the Iraqi invasion/occupation as well as the Afghani invasion/occupation.

If they didn’t then they are/were politically SELECTIVE and thus without credibility.

Apparently, in the Ukraine prior to Feb 2022 even a comedian could become the president of the country for the right price!

Ask Ihor Kolomoisky who paid top dollar to place him there so that he could run the country without any of the responsibilities!

The hypocrites are those who were silent during the Iraqi invasion/occupation as well as the Afghani invasion/occupation.
