Considered to be the start of humanity as we know it. Although clearly there must be earlier stuff which has not found yet. It seems to protect it they buried it before abandoning it. Clearly perhaps after a loss of war of some sort. And thank goodness they had the foresight to hide it as most enemies would have destroyed all traces of it after their victory.
