Greek Police arrest people who were not protesting, and released four hours later without charges, at the behest of a Chinese official; this the "Olympics": try using their Trademark, the IOC is as corrupt as its willing partners, all for greed. Ironically, China has not learned anything form their last experience of being the host for these events, still using every fiction as a subterfuge, "controlling" the narrative, still getting the worst of it tarnishing themselves.

This incident does not bode well for February's games.

lets face it all these events are full of crap. Al they do is line the pockets of the corporations. They can go to hell.

..."blue skies" in Beijing, but it is a ghost town.

Who pays the costs of such an event, (and such grandeur), empty hotels and rapid transit rail lines to nowhere actually, where the locals are (and have been) paying dearly, is still to be sorted out.

...hard to watch these Olympics with any enthusiasm frankly. Already, i was soured to them years ago, with the Paralympics playing second fiddle, a second act still, rather than the warm-up everyone will want to see, waiting and wanting to see.

...they are too political, (in the wrong way) what with the corruption and all, the motives for hosting such events has become increasingly complex and far beyond a venue where the world's youth may enjoy a common joy of living, through sport.

...i am hopeful though, because things can change.
