Each of these wars had a President from both parties, but the end result was going to be the same whomever pulled the troops out. There never is an easier way out when you lose a war. If after 20 years the corrupt Afghan government could not build a stable government with 300,000 home trained troops, just how long do you want to retain 50,000 NATO troops in Afghanistan? The so called Afghan President left the country with tons of cash no doubt to save his own ass and left his people to fend for themselves. So far the Taliban is sending positive messages to all Afghans so let’s hope that they have reformed somewhat.
I'm so sorry Kikapu but there are no positive messages. None.
They are just playing it smart, waiting for the Americans to leave. Then all hell will break loose.
They already attacked Northern Alliance Afghans just north of Kabul, because they are seemingly forming a resistence with the former Government Officials and I also heard that the Afghan Deputy Prime Minister is there with them.
It's a total disgrace what the Coalition have done. It simply just can't be justified by any human being seeking law and order, human rights and justice.
You want to know something? If Biden comes back and clearly states he made a mistake and miscalculated, and then remobilized 50,000 US Troops, I will praise him. But is he such a leader or such a man? I doubt it.
As such, the man is unfit to be President and should resign immediately.
Americans will not forget this by 2024.
