Since WWII, the West has been winning wars at times, but almost all of the time, losing the peace. Afghanistan is just a another example. Not only we haven’t won the peace in Afghanistan, but now we have strengthened and embolden the Taliban with modern military equipment given to the Afghan military and government for the last 20 years, along with 300,000 trained military personnel. Talk about Christmas coming early this year for the Taliban. The west also need to learn and understand that we cannot impose our western values on others no matter how well intentioned they may be. We cannot change their way of life of hundreds of years of practice with 20 years of western values. There are many sad cases around the world, so rather than spending billions on fighting losing wars, let’s spend a fraction of that money to help those to help themselves to be able to feed themselves. Yes I know, that would do nothing for the military industrial complexes and the bottom line in making profit.

Just have a look at Afghanistan, the Americans installed a President in a country of 39 Million people with 1 million votes and had an agreemiment with the Taliban without the government being in the room. It says it all. There is no peace anyware, all there is is the Interest of America, Russia and China. They are all acting like mafia with some contries raised to the cappo status.

Surrendered by the Afghan Security Forces.

This is a total disaster and I'm afraid this is only going to create an Afghan War 2 in a couple years from now. Or maybe slightly more.

It's only a matter of time before they hit some Western Interests in a terrorist attack through one of their Cronies.

Such a shame.

No wonder the west is losing wars left right and centre. The machinegun is facing backwards, presumably to fire on the enemy as their are retreating.

I don’t think so somehow. The Taliban has learned their lessons not to allow third party terrorist attack any foreign land and be based in Afghanistan. Taliban will try to bring the country together to be accepted by the world in some fashion, just as other Human Rights violation countries have done in the world, which there are many, including NATO member country.

we will see!

A leopard never changes it's spots.

I think the Taliban have a massive chip on their shoulder with America. I'm sure they would love to capture some US Consular Staff, but they are too scared to do that for now because they know if they did that, it's game on.

But in any case, as far as I'm concerned, a terrorist attack isn't required to warrant military action against the Taliban in the future. Military action is warranted, merely for the fact we owe it to the Afghan people and correcting our betrayal of them.

Oh btw, there is no way Trump would have allowed this to happen.

Every American should feel ashamed.
