the allied withdrawal was a betrayal of the Afghan People. We allowed this to happen and now the poor Afghan people, women and children especially, are going to suffer at the hands of these terrorists.

Max, it's a case of what we as the West stand for - US, EU, Australia, NATO et al. What do we stand for?

Do we stand for justice? Do we support the Afghan people? Do we care what they will go through under the Taliban?

It appears we don't care. That we are heartless and do not support justice.

We have accomplished the destruction of Al Qaeda, and ISIL. But under the Taliban, they will all be back. We also gave the Afghan people 20 years of respite. So, things were achieved. but when we now betray the Afghans, it's back to sqaure one.

The money spent in Afghanistan is a pittance. Let me break it down for you. Over 20 years, it has cost over 1 Trillion USD. Divide by 20 years, and we are talking abouit 50 billion per year.

That is insignificant to the US.

To further break it down for you. 1 Trillion over 20 years, equates to about 1.3 Billion to the Cyprus GDP. Divide by 20 and it works out to be about 65 million to the Cyprus GDP.

Now, let me point out also, that the Australian Submarine Contract is worth about $60 billion. The Australian Frigate program, is worth about $80 billion.

So insignificant to Australia as well.

That is where the media reporting is all wrong. They are offering no nuance or context.

Secondly, all that was requirred was a NATO force of about 50,000 soldiers to support the Afghan Security Forces. Indefinately if we have to. So as to ensure, the Taliban can never come back and take over Afghanistan, ever again.

The US has 50,000 troops in Australia, permanently. It costs nothing! The wages would be paid no matter where the troops are stationed. So the 50,000 troops in Australia, cost America very little. Maybe a few hundred million, or a billion at best. It's pocket change.

A small presence of 50,000 Troops, mainly in a support role, would cost the West some loose change.

The biggest cost would have been in the early days when the US Military was engaged in major combat and had to move major assets there.

So the question needs to be asked, of the US, and Boris, is why have we abandoned the Afghani People? Afghans are a wonderful people. I totally love them. they are a very classy people and I don't say that lightly. To see them, and to hear their women and children are now condemned to live under the Taliban is heartbreaking. No education, no music, no joy or happiness.

You should be equally disappointed. All of us should be disappointed and ashamed, because Afghan people are going to suffer now. It is a big shame. and this isn't our finest hour because we walk away and let it happen.

Are we really going to put some pocket change ahead of the Afghan People after going through so much the last 20 years?

You cannot make it up. They have done a poll to see if the Northern Irish people want a poll to vote on weather they want to remain in UK or part of Irelenad. So the Establishment is suggesting that the International Agreement called The Good Vriday Agreement can be ignored by a popular vote.
