Interesting facts I see today. Lets start with the headline and see where it takes us.
Huge amount of tax paid by the 'richest' in the UK revealed ahead of Autumn Budget
Here is the next bit.
The wealthiest people in the UK pay around £3billion a year in income tax, a new BBC report has revealed.
Nothing about how many there are or how much they are earning. Clearly that is irrelevant to the subject despite the fact that tax you pay depends on your declared earning when you are wealthy.
The BBC reports that each of the 60 wealthiest individuals contributed at least £50million to the government's coffers in the 2021-2022 tax year
A little more to wet our apatite. So, individuals have paid under a million each on average, but again not a word of how much they have earned and how much profit they have declared.
UK had a total income tax receipt of £225billion, with contributions from around 33million British taxpayers.
And finally the rest of us and clearly what the wealthy have paid is huge but what we pay is tiny, right? This figure include tax on people who earn their living and pay their taxes despite the fact that they are unable to put the food on the table and have to visit food banks due to cash flow problems.
What a shame that every year we pay 30 billion a year for nuclear weapons despite that we will never use them. I wonder why the rest of Europe do not have these weapons? Of course with the exception of the French. They are at the same level of stupidity.
