Considering the Swinebitch started the housing problem by forcing the Local Authorities to sell their social housing at a quarter of the value and then blocking them from building new social houses and then finally cutting the money they got from the government so they were forced to use the money they got for normal council services, it is a bit rich the Swine claiming they will deal with the housing crises. It is as if they have not been in power for 13 years. Its a bit like the Nazis claiming they will solve the concentration camps problems.
They love to use the phrase "Affordable Housing" but nobody ever goes into practical detail as to what it means.
Affordable housing is housing which is deemed affordable to those with a household income at or below the median. It means that, after paying rent, people should still have enough money for other necessities. Affordable housing can also refer to housing assistance for low-income individuals provided by the government, such as housing vouchers or subsidized housing.
Median wage UK varies by year, region, and type of employment. The latest available data for full-time workers shows that the median annual earnings was 33,000 pounds in 2022.
This is not a good indicator to use as 50% of UK workers earn less than 25K per year gross. Considering average person was paying 2500 pounds on energy in 2022, and food inflation up by as much as 100%, we are in the shit is putting it mildly.
As to the housing crises regarding stagnant wages for the last 13 years and hosing costs going up astronomically at the same time, it is difficult to see what they can do to actually correct the situation. Perhaps they can double everybody's wages and half all house sale prices. Now that will go a long way. Most people buy and sell at the same time so it will not make any difference to them with regards to house prices, except those who are buying for the first time and those who are just selling. If they are just selling they are not in need of any help anyway.
