Vladimir Putin is about as far from communism - and the Soviet ideal - as you could possibly get. He's in essence a fascist dictator of 22 years standing, who's presided over a Kleptocracy which has encouraged the asset stripping of the former USSR. In the process creating a close circle of supporting, vastly wealthy and globally famous oligarchs.

It remains a mystery to me why anybody who regards western capitalism as fundamentally unfair could be so supportive of it.

I have never supported Putin or his regime or anything he has done since he or Yeltsin came to power. I am stating the facts regarding who started the Ukrainian war and who bears the responsibility for it. Have another look at life before the Soviets took over. In the old soviet system before the collapse, hot water for the Moscow population was free. I don't know any other place but a friend of mine was there and he was very surprised at life there especially after what was being written in the west about them.

Secondly, the system in the west now is so corrupt that only 1917 type of revolution would cleans the continent to make it fair.

Fair trial and up against the wall seems to be the best route. Anybody found corrupt in any way amassing wealth and hiding it first in line. Tax payers are fine no matter how much they earn. I am not against people earning money, just pay your correct taxes and earn your money not cheat your way to wealth.

Not funny at all is it.
