Indeed, America cannot demand from others change if they are unable to make these changes for themselves.
...and where but America are we, along with them, most hopeful that such change is possible?
America has been the leader for the free world for so long, always saving our literall butts since WW2.
And always selflessly cooperating with its allies to the detriment of their own economy even. When we don't even pull our own weights.
America is still a benchmark in terms of democracy, freedom and human rights in so many ways. Very little needs to change. you can do what you like there. They have welcomed the world to their shores for decades and still do. It's a country that takes its right of place alongside many others in Europe and elsewhere. It's a Western Country built on western values, originating mostl;y from Europe. It isn't deficient by any means but they do have their own identity socially speaking. A very broad church america is.
It's judicial system is very elaborate and organized.
It's literally eons ahead of Cyprus in many regards.
very little needs to change because America literally is the leader of change and innovation in every facet including social justice.
I'm literally flabergasted that you compare America to Turkey.
Who are you going to compare them to next? Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia? China? Who? It's perposterous to make comparisons with America. It's a Western Liberal democracy for a start whilst the others are not.
racism is a big accusation against them that you make, when everyone can see Black people in cockpits, on boards, in the police and participating in their social fabric in so many ways, including education.
All that when the Royal family (they won't admit it) practically disowned Harry for marrying a person of colour. The very same thing the majority of Cypriots will have trouble avoiding as well.
Black is very much an integral part of the American culture and identity today. Same with hispanic, Greek, Italian, jew, german, Irish and many more.
