As a Cypriot it is easy for me to say this. There is no definitive moment i think, where one can point and say, it started here; just a burning desire from "those" unwilling to look into the hatred that they breed being "one" themselves.
1974 is a case in point where Turkey for Cypriots could have been a Hero much to International esteem, but like the "Greeks" those in '63 they show us the same motives, a "Turkishness" that excludes "others".
...Cyprus free of "this" as i said before gives hope to all Turks not "Turkish", Turkey today divided as it is.
By not looking at detail of the time you are actually missing the whole picture. Especially as the narative to this day is that 1963 was TCs rebelling and blocking the Government from functioning and had to be put down. If this is not explained to the GCs they wil lnever accept power sharing.
In effect you are blocking the agreement.
The question really is do you care wjther the country unites or not. If you don't than it goes on till UN decided enough is enough or there is no TCs left in Cyprus and of course our DT and a few other fascist friends here will be most pleased.
Take your pick.
