...in Nicosia today (Saturday), demonstrators were treated by the Police with force, water cannon and tear gas, failing to disperse when told.

One has to wonder if their actions were extreme because of the curfew regulations; Government Corruption, being the issue.

...it is, in Cyprus, an issue, corruption, which will not fade away.

"partition and corruption go hand in hand", said one sign; something to think about because, while it is "Greeks", and "Turks", who have the most to gain, things as they are, Cypriots pay the bills.

NICOSIA (Reuters) - Anti-corruption campaigners in Cyprus will protest again on Feb. 20, they said on Tuesday, after a violent clampdown by police at an event on Feb. 13 drew widespread condemnation.
