It was Friday 18th June when late afternoon I received a call from my GP. Ordering me to go to the hospital immediately as he had received my blood test results and my Haemoglobin was dangerously low at 7..i said, can I not go on Monday, No he said Now. So i trotted off to the hospital and was admitted.
I was given 2 units of blood and stayed in for 5 days undergoing a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy procedures.
Subsequently some days later i was called in and told that i had a malignant ulcer in my stomach and it had to be removed, also that it was in the very early stages and that ....somehow I was lucky. Many tests followed , CT Scan, Xrays, Pet Scan and blood tests. The Pet Scan was performed at the Germaniko Cancer hospital, very modern unit, i was impressed. Thereof followed many tests, cardiologist, pneumologist and more x rays . Very thourough
Procedures were followed getting me ready for the operation which I was told took 6 hours. Im now on the mend, went fishing this morning !!
