I use Gan Direct. They're very friendly, although if you visit a shop they tend to be quite busy. Online though you get a 10% discount and it's an easy process. I have a distant memory of them photographing my car plate with chassis number on, so don't know how that fits in with the internet side.

I believe you can get a bigger discount if you also take your house insurance with them.

I can commend their breakdown service, which is very quick and efficient. I've never made a claim though - which of course is the ultimate proof of the puddin' - but haven't heard any bad stories.

I found their customer service to be quite obnoxious when contacting them a few years ago. Because of this, I don't wont anything to do with them. Could be the b&ch behind the counter only had a bad day, of course.

I've been with Cosmos Insurance ever after. Gan is probably cheaper, but with such a lousy customer service, I wouldn't dare to depend on them when in trouble.
