Republican lies have thrust America into its third revolution. We are a nation in crisis.

To read and listen to the headlines after House Republicans voted to remove Rep. Liz Cheney from her leadership post, one would think that the “turning point” in the Republican Party began with its denial of the 2020 election result after Nov. 3, or the Capitol insurrection on Jan. 6. Neither of those moments, however, is or was the actual turning point. Instead, the transformation one of the nation’s two major political parties took place well before each of those events. And the longer it takes for the public conversation to recognize how dramatically the Republican Party has already shifted, the longer it will take to develop a coherent civic strategy to protect U.S. democracy going forward.
And we do need a strategy, because this political crisis is not just the internal machinations of a single political party; it is a political crisis of a nation. Indeed, it might not be hyperbolic to characterize our present national state as in the midst of the third revolution.

Oh come on!. GOP Caucus voted her out and now you are saying this equated to a nation in Crisis.
Well sorry, but Trump has the numbers and she should have towed the line. The price for anything else is betrayal against the GOP.
She knew the risks and she paid the price. The GOP have every right to remove her.
If she is unhappy, she should join the Democrats. the GOP has 2024 in its sights and can't afford any internal saboteurs and troublemakers.
She is trying to make headlines like her dad. Must be difficult living in his shadow.
No no, Cheney will remain in the GOP where she can be more effective against Trump and his lapdogs. Only voters from Wyoming can remove her from her congressional position. I can’t see that happening since the state is a Cheney country, not unless her father goes against her. As matter of fact, she may challenge for the Senate seat from Wyoming next time around so that she can really be effective against those Trump cocksuckers in the House and the Senate. She told the truth against Trump and she got lynched in a true GOP fascistic manner. It goes to show that the GOP does not believe in the 1st Amendment and democracy in general.
Then stop complaining.
She will continue to be marginalised to the fringes of the party. And her career will go nowhere.
Sounds like she is a masochist to me.
Doesn’t look like she’s very effective.
I am not complaining as far as seeing the Banana Republican Party imploding. It goes to show how mean spirited the GOP is, only they have gotten worse under Trump. Cheney will just become a “silent democrat” within the GOP and stick to her principles, which majority of those in the GOP do not have. Majority of Americans have seen the true colours of the GOP under Trump, which is why they got their butts kicked in the November 3rd, 2020 election.

How's that for a new development.

You wish he was a criminal.
As hard as you try, it seems that every attempt to falsely crucify the man has failed and can only result in his resurrection. Inshallah!

The 35 House Republicans who defied Trump and voted for the January 6 commission

Thirty-five House Republicans voted for an investigation into the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
Republicans critical of President Trump's role in the events broke ranks to vote for the probe.
The vote underscores the division within the GOP over Trump's influence on the party's direction.
Thirty-five House Republicans on Wednesday voted in favor of a bill to establish a commission to investigate the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
Former President Donald Trump this week urged Republican lawmakers to oppose it, saying in a statement: "Republicans must get much tougher and much smarter, and stop being used by the Radical Left."
The result underscores the ongoing division within the GOP over Trump's role in and influence over the party's direction, with many Republicans who had criticized the former president for his role in the events of January 6 - including Rep. Liz Cheney - breaking ranks to vote in favor of establishing a commission.
