Well, Trump was the reason for the Republicans to lose the House, the Senate and the White House.

Trump is the best thing that has happened to the Democrats, so why not keep him alive?

“............ Today, on this January day, my whole soul is in this:

Bringing America together.

Uniting our people.

And uniting our nation.”

There’s been little evidence of “Uniting” since though. More of a divisive and embittering purge.

If nature doesn’t intervene, Trump, a man defeated almost 6 months ago but who’s being daily kept in the light, could come back and bite. In which case, it will be the fault of a Democratic party’s apparently endless pursuit of gloating revenge.

Well, it takes two to Tango, no?

Show me where the Republicans have joined the Democrats thus far to pass any bills. Under Trump they sung a different tune, no? Credit to some Republicans for impeaching Trump, but overall, no support for the recent stimulus package to help Americans, which even Trump supported when he was the president, but not so when he is no longer. Then you have the Red States wanting/changing voting rules to make it harder for minorities to vote. Not very democratic, no?

Mmmm. We're talking about 2 different things methinks. That's the normal hussle 'n' bussle of party politics in a democracy. Making pious speeches about reuniting a clearly divided nation - "unity" - whilst actually carrying out a purge of Trump supporters across the entire governmental spectrum, under the thinly veiled guise of various woke adjective headings, is something entirely different. Not to mention hypocritical.

Most of us were glad to see Trump go. We were thinking of it as a permanent thing though. The DNC's apparent obsession with revenge I believe puts that in doubt. He's going to come back and bite you all. Especially if Biden's South American style spending spree turns what will be an obvious big boom into an even bigger bust.

You would know far more about all this shite than me of course. I've just got the one passport. 8)

Having more than one passport only gives one more options in life, not smarts!

Look, Trump is still peddling that the election was stolen from them (Republicans), so how can there be any degree of unity in the country, especially when some of the Red States want to bring back a little touch of “Jim Crow Law”. It is 2021 and these dickheads want to reverse some of the gains made in the country the last 5 centuries in favour of the minorities. How an earth can you form a unity with people who do not respect democracy just because some of the Red States lost in the last election. Yes, the Mean Spirited Banana Republican Party is still alive and well, and the Democrats will show the world just who these cunts really are, and if not them, who else is going to do it? Surely not the God fearing evangelical White Republicans, right?

It doesn't matter what Trump's "peddling". He's an ex parrot.

OK. Well, good luck with that POV and approach. It's - eradicate the Republicans - in the cause of "unity" then.

I hope I don't get to say "told you so". :(

This scene which most of us are familiar with from the movie “The 10 Commandments” depicts the two party system in the USA very well. The one with the whip always controls the ship.

Same difference. From Pharaoh to be, to being a shepherd, to be the servant of the burning bush and God. :D

It all fits well.

Looks like some Republicans too want to keep Trump alive in the news. :D

The New York Times
Boehner Blasts Trump, Saying He 'Incited That Bloody Insurrection'

Maggie Haberman
Wed, April 7, 2021, 2:15 PM

John Boehner, the Republican former House speaker, issues a stinging denunciation in his new book of Donald Trump, saying that the former president “incited that bloody insurrection” by his supporters at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and that the Republican Party has been taken over by “whack jobs.”

The criticism from Boehner in his book, “On the House: A Washington Memoir,” represents an extraordinary public rebuke by a former speaker of the House toward a former president from his own party and shows how much the Republican Party has shifted since Boehner left Congress in 2015. And his remarks came as Trump has sought to retain his grip on Republican lawmakers’ loyalty from his new political base in south Florida.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sharply criticized Trump at the end of the Senate trial for the former president’s second impeachment, pointing to his role in the Capitol riot. Others, like Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, the No. 3 in the House Republican leadership, have also excoriated him.

All political parties accept donations from their supporters.

Really, how many political parties are you aware of that have donations to a leader?

Do you not know how he scammed them lat time asking them to contribute to court expenses to stop the steal. Any donationas less than 8000 dollars went to his personal account. Anything above that went to the legal fees.

I see no issue at all with crowd funding.
