Federal judge in Iowa ridicules Trump's pardons

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — A federal judge in Iowa who has warned against political corruption is ridiculing President Donald Trump’s pardons, including those issued to convicted Republican campaign operatives and former members of Congress.

It’s not surprising that a criminal like Trump pardons other criminals,” senior U.S. District Judge Robert Pratt of the Southern District of Iowa told The Associated Press in a brief phone interview Monday. In a bit of humor, he said: “But apparently to get a pardon, one has to be either a Republican, a convicted child murderer or a turkey.

Top presidential historian on Trump's legacy: 'He was largely responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans who did not need to die'

Presidential historian Michael Beschloss told MSNBC that President Donald Trump's legacy will always be tied to the catastrophic COVID-19 death toll in the US.

"Donald Trump is not going to change the record. He was largely responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans who did not need to die," Beschloss said.

As of Wednesday, nearly 339,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 under Trump's watch. It's the highest reported COVID-19 death toll in the world.

Michael Beschloss, a prominent presidential historian, in an interview with MSNBC this week said that historians will need time to fully assess President Donald Trump's legacy but that he'll never be able to escape the COVID-19 death toll.

"Donald Trump is not going to change the record. He was largely responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans who did not need to die," Beschloss said. "Millions of others who suffered from covid did not need to suffer…This is really Nero's fiddling while Rome burns.

This is exactly what’s going on.

Already Trump has sown the seed and the only way out of the woods is if Biden turns out to be an A Grade POTUS. Going by his past performance and his current form, I’m certain he will fall very short and Americans will be begging for Trump.

I think Trump is running is 2024. And already, Americans are showing angst as Biden gets more media time and shows his lack of cognitive ability.

Biden will be gone fairly early in his presidency. Kamala will take over as the new president and to my best guess, she will nominate Californian governor Gavin Newsom, whose 1st term ends November 2022, to become the new Vice President once approved by Congress.

Trump will not make a comeback because he is very tainted, and not only he is corrupted but had surrounded himself with corrupted individuals all needing to be pardoned. Aside from that, his actions since losing the election in trying to subvert the democratic process by trying to steal the election with fraudulent claims because Trump is a criminal and a liar, the Democrats will find millions new votes to make sure Trump and family has zero chance becoming president again. :D

As the saying goes, “Fuck me once, shame on you. Fuck me twice, shame on me”. American people will not allow themselves to be fucked by Trump ever again. :D

Tainted by who.

Trump only had to pardon Flynn who was part of the administration inner circle. And he was more a victim of circumstance than anything else as he just gave false testimony as a result of the beat up over his meeting with Russian Diplomats which was instigated by the Russians who wanted to sus things out after all the media speculation that Trump was going to be a loose cannon and in charge of the ICBM codes.

A worthy recipient of a pardon as far as I’m concerned,

As for Camela. Our Christmases will be coming all at once when she takes over. Making a Trump come back more conducive because Americans will be lining up to vote for him.

Whoever said "a week in politics is a long time" (Wilson?) was surely spot on. Looking back to 2016, who would have been able to predict our world today? Trump though will be Biden's current age then and has never come across as a man who looks after himself and's in good shape. I personally doubt it will happen. He does though have quite a grip on the GOP at present. So - who can really say? Much will depend on Biden's tenure I suppose. Good luck to everybody with that one.

Anyway, a Happy New Year to all and here's hoping that 2021 will be kinder.

Trump just got voted as the most inspirational person in the US.

If Biden becomes a flop, which I em think it will be, then Trump couldn’t wish for a better red carpet back to the WH.

Voted by who.? Could it be the AAA ( Association of American Arseholes?).

Not much of a hill to climb really to win, what, 18% from 100%.
POTUS earned 18% of the votes to take the number one spot. President Obama follows him with 15%, President-elect Joe Biden with 6%, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who placed in the top 10 for the first time with 3%, and Pope Francis rounded out the top five with 2%.

According to Gallup, it is typical for the incumbent president to be named most admired. Since the survey began to be conducted in 1946, 60 times out of 74, the commander in chief received the most votes.

The years a president did not finish first includes Harry Truman (1946-1947 and 1950-1952), Lyndon Johnson (1967-1968), Richard Nixon (1973), Gerald Ford (1974-1975), Jimmy Carter (1980), George W. Bush (2008) and Donald Trump (2017-2018).

Obviously the same association that use to elect Obama for several years.

The point is, Trump’s popularity is actually increasing now by a lot. Just in the last few weeks since the election, his popularity is on the rise.

What it also points to is that many millions of Americans, including Democrat supporters, probably do believe the election process was rigged or corrupted to an extent. Now that is an amazing thing to say. The bastion of democracy has been corrupted. The results simply just don’t add up. The way many key states were flipped with massive vote dumps. It doesn’t look good at all. You would have thought the electoral commission in America would have been very careful in the way the votes were tallied to make it look normal but some of the vote dumps in the late hours just after vote counting stopped look very suspicious to say the least.

Basically people, our democracy is just an illusion. It only exists for the powerful and rich. Not for the average person.

This year, people will see how insignificant they are when the rich and powerful will make rules that affect all of us but not them other than make them much richer and us penniless paupers.

All I can say is I feel very lucky to be in Australia right now because Australia isn’t playing ball with the rich and powerful. In fact, our PM is one of the guys that goes to the Green Summits and World Economic Forum and behaves like a benevolent dictator, and he mocks them and laughs in their faces. They actually fear him. Very much a leader in the same mould as Pootin.

And this year has proven to all of us that if need be, Australia can go it’s own way, shut its borders, start trade wars with rich and powerful countries and we won’t be destitute because we have been blessed with the wealth and resources to say FU to the world. We are mostly self reliant in everything, including fuel.

So thank God for this because I see the day approaching where Australia will need to do this.

And btw, I see more pandemics coming our way. Each one worse than the previous. I got a funny feeling 2021 isn’t going to go very well. Massive bankruptcies will occur when then vaccine won’t stop COVID.
